Have you ever wondered why it rains in the worst possible moment?  Does it ever feel like someone is watching you?  Why are you really so scared of the dark, when there is almost always nothing there?

 

The truth is, there are explanations to all of these things, only we as humans lack the knowledge of them.

 

Far above us in the medieval era dwells a kingdom--no, a world--filled with whimsy, fantasy and phenomena of your wildest dreams.  The world dwells above the clouds, filled with rich stone walls, cobblestone homes, water fountains aplenty, and the palaces whose splendor rivals even that of the great King Alderon down below in the human world.  This world is beautiful, massive, and rich.

 

But who could live in this world, you are probably asking yourself, if this happened long, long ago back in the age of medieval living?  If there are no planes, how could people reach this magnificent place?  And if humans did not know of this world, then what could possibly live there?  There is only one simple explanation, and that explanation is the very reality of what lives there: fey.

 

Fey, all sorts of fey.  Predominately fairies, though they are not your average fairy that you read about in a bedtime story.  They are in every sense of the word human, only they are gifted with three things that the mere human does not possess: magic, immortality, and flight.  The range of fey that dwell in the Overworld vary, from fairies, imps, minotaurs, eidolons, vampires, and just about any mythical race.  While it would seem they have a paradise, it may be surprising that they desire something much, much more, more expansive such as the world below.

 

Which has brought them into the disaster that has befallen them today.

 

A young fey, perhaps three hundred years old, ventured into the forbidden world below, sneaking past security with his two friends.  He met many humans, many curious, some kind, and others . . . more power-thirsty than anything.  A dreadful fate befell the three friends: one had been kept by the human King Alderon for his own dark experimental purposes, another died while trying to save him, and the last made it home, but was punished so severely he'd wished that he'd died.  While the majority of the underworld do not know of the existence of the Fey kingdom, King Alderon does, and he's attempting to reign supreme over all the kingdoms of his world.  In doing so he plans to use the one weapon he doesn't have and is known as a forgotten art: magic.  Yes, magic existed within these young fey, and he would stop at nothing to obtain these magics for his own purposes, even if it meant draining the poor fey dry of their magic, killing them in the process of transferring this magic into their own warriors.

 

You have a choice: to be human, or be a member of the mythical race of the Overworld preparing for the greatest of wars between worlds.  If you are a human you wouldn't know anything about fey, unless you serve directly under King Alderon and know of his plans.  If you are of the Overworld you have never been to the main world, but rather have only heard stories and probably yearn to see what it is like.  Travel between the worlds is forbidden for fey, to prevent the very tragedy that the young boy had created.  You may choose most any race for an Overworld dweller, though if I feel it isn't a good fit or is over-powered I may decline the race.

 

The rules consist of:

 

1.) No god-modding.

2.) No auto-hitting or mass slaughter.  This means if you are battling someone don't make your hit automatically meet its target, but rather have it aimed at a player and they choose whether the attack hits or misses.  No mass slaughter means don't kill off a bunch of NPCs without permission.

3.) Go with the plot, and please choose a character that fits well with the world and setting.

4.) Original characters only.  If you would like to use a canon character please modify them until they are your own creation, and rather inspired by a canon character.

5.) When in a group of other people, please post after everyone in your group has posted.  I don't want anyone to fall too far behind.

6.) Keep everything PG-13, please.

7.) Romance is permitted, but again please remember rating restrictions.

8.) Please don't have invincible characters.  While you get to choose whether your character is hit by an attack, don't make them avoid everything or else it seems like god-modding.

9.) Don't be over-powered.

10.) All KH13 rules apply.

11.) This is going to be a heavy world-building roleplay, that will rely heavily on plot and character interaction.  I intend to keep this roleplay going for a considerable length of time, though it may not be entirely fast to update.  Having said that, please try to post at least once every two weeks, but if you are going to be away please let me know and we will make arrangements for your characters.  Should you remain absent for an extended length of time, I reserve the right to utilize your characters as I deem fit for the RP's progression.

Yeah, sorry, I saw your earlier post but I was on the go and couldn't take the time to respond very well. I've been a little preoccupied with the holidays so I haven't had the chance to fully read your character sheet, though I did notice that he's parallel to Maxis in so many ways.

 

I will be back online in a couple of hours and will get back to you on that.

 

All right then, let's make some new characters.

 

Name: Meksis, "The Hand of The Chaperone"

 

Gender: ??? 

"If you take a moment to observe my figure, you'd gather I was once a man. So, in turn, I am a male Armour."

 

Race: Possessed Armour.

Race Abilities: As a spirit inhabiting a suit of Armour, Meksis, like his ilk such as Maxis, has a vastly different physiology to those of flesh. He can be torn apart, broken many times and still reform, albeit taking longer each time. To end him once and for all, to kill him, his soul would need to be outright exorcised and his seal binding him to his armour destroyed. The increased durability and stamina that comes with being a Suit of Armour allows him to perform outstanding feats and escape acts, for instance falling long distances, diving into a fast moving object to scatter his Armour away or running for a very long time.

 

"After the first five hundred years or so, one does begin to miss their old body. I did once, but soon, sooner than most in fact, I learned to put aside those feelings. Besides, some of the things I can do are well worth it in the end."

 

Age: Very much an ancient being, to the point where Meksis has lost his clear recollection of his origin due to the years past.

 

"I've seen a great deal over eons past. It has been...entertaining, to say the least."

 

Appearance: 

 

"The passage of time has not taken away from my Armour's integrity and quality."

 

Magic:

 

Aura of The Chaperone: The engravings on his Armour are often lit with a dim, smooth white-orange glow (Colour seen in appearance image for reference.) but when his power is activated and unleashed, it manifests as the smooth, same colour aura around his person (Directly pictured above.). When in it's passive, engraving glowing form, Meksis has a generally soothing, safe presence about him and a feeling of nobility is carried without words.

 

"For the average fey, I need no words to assure them they are safe around me. It often assists me in gaining the trust of those I serve, then I prove it with my skills."

 

When active, his aura manifests around him as described and activates his power over Light. With this power, he can utilize basic abilities, i.e Light Beams, Orbs, AoE Attacks using him as the point of origin. Advanced powers such as enhancing his weaponry with Light Energy to increase reach for blades and grants an explosive payload to any projectile weaponry, though this requires more time to use. And more Expert Abilities such as Healing his allies or granting them Temporary Barriers, these require the most casting time and he cannot use them on himself.

 

On the subject of the aforementioned weapons, his Light Power extends to summoning magic, as he can summon a multitude of weapons that can be used as real, touchable objects in this world. These items are "Bound Items", permanent in his grasp and if anyone else can control their energies and powers, they can be used by others or sold as they are very valuable. As Bound Items, they are indestructible and if a sword or other kind of blade, they are always sharp.

 

"Light has guided me for a long time and I will protect others. My shields are enough protection for myself, I have no need of the barriers even if I could use them on myself...plus, it is better to kill the enemy before they harm my allies or the innocent."

 

Solidarity of The Chaperone: The full potential of Meksis unleashed. Focusing his power, Meksis transforms into an ascended state, gaining a single, large angelic wing with a white base to it and golden feathers sprouting from his shoulder, his aura grows, light energy pours from the "face" of his helmet and his voice gains a distortion to it. This power is focused more on protecting through force, i.e: Offense is the best Defence. He loses healing and barriers, but he gains the power of flight, increased speed and more attacks, such as using his weapon summoning in more offensive manners like: Creating large, ornate spears to throw at high velocity, high enough to scar the ground they speed across, which can be done multiple times in slow succession and can, with good reactions, deflected or even thrown back at him. Summon multiple Energised Swords that can be made to float around his enemy and then close in all at once or several at a time, fired from a distance or used in any other tricky manner. These blades shatter upon impact and discharge light energy to cause their damage. His fighting style is also confined to a Greatsword and Greatshield without the option of using any weapons other than them, but his shield becomes energised, able to protect himself more and deflecting damage dealt to it. However, this can be worn down with repeated assaults and its remaining strength is visible through the aura it gains: Glowing blue for when it's strongest, then a faltering red for the weakest points before the aura shatters. If the shield aura shatters, the reverberations of the unstable power ripple through Meksis, stunning him and opening him up for massive assault.

 

His increased agility main comes into his ability to fly along with a short range teleport to the side or into the air, both of which leave golden feathers that often track where he's about to go briefly, so those with a keen eye will know where he'll appear.

 

"Sometimes I must press the attack in order to protect the most people in the best way possible...that is why I have this power to begin with. My sword and shield are my favoured weapons anyway, so the disadvantage I can cope with. I just hope my adversaries enjoy a good spear to the face."

 

His awakening has been long overdue and during that time, a new, dangerous power has infected Meksis.

 

Wretched Blight of The Chaperone: A strange, infectious Darkness has seeped into his Armour during his excessive resting and cursed Meksis with an uncontrollable, unpredictable power that can take hold of him at any moment. His will is strong, but in the unlikely event of the shadows taking hold he changes completely. For starters, his gains a wild aura of Darkness mainly focused around his head and heart, shadows spewing from him in an untamed fashion and dark fumes emanate from his joints. His "eyes" become a deep, glowing red and his personality changes to that of an unhinged, merciless killer. All of his Light abilities are lost but he can still enter an altered version of his Solidarity of The Chaperone with Darkness powers instead. He uses his Shield in a purely offensive fashion, loses healing and barriers and all of his Light Attacks and Abilities are replaced with Darkness Powers.

 

During this state, he refers to himself as "The Defiled".

 

"My...rest has been too long and far from peaceful. This, disease has worked it's way into me...it warps me, perverts me, it...*sigh*. I pray it never takes hold when I'm protecting an innocent. It takes hold of my mind entirely, it changes me, it is far from a simple plague...it thinks, it knows...it learns."

 

Weapons: "I can use a great many weapons, from the smaller Fencing Swords, Throwing Knives and Shurikens, to the larger Murasamas, Greatswords, Greatshields, Battleaxes, the list can go on. I've even taken to using weapons that cover a distance such as Bow and Arrow, Crossbows, whatever takes my fancy. If I wished, I could simply use my limbs. I honestly prefer using my Greatsword and Greatshield overall."

 

Personality: Righteous, noble but with a sense of humour, Meksis isn't "stuck up his own colon" like some may say, he has ideals and follows the doctrine he has set for himself diligently but he isn't socially inept nor is he incapable of laughing. He respects those of authority but will skip formalities if they are deemed unnecessary. He is loyal to the end but he hasn't seen another Armour like himself for too long so he'll be naturally drawn to any he senses.

 

When under the influence of his Dark Infection, he is radically different, he gains an unquenchable bloodlust, a disregard for innocent life and will stop at nothing to kill his enemy, using any means necessary even if it means making a serious mess...usually with his bare hands if not his weapons. He is deeply ashamed of this side of him, not willing to embrace this beast and in some ways, it makes it even worse.

 

"Don't mistake me for an overly selfless, stuck-up fool, I am capable of cutting loose every once in a while."

 

Biography: His origins are as mysterious as that of Maxis, mainly because he doesn't remember all that well, but some details about his recent life stick out. Thousands of years ago, when conflict arose and was dealt with, Meksis entered rest in a cave, away from any civilization and waited for the next event. Unfortunately and unexpectedly, he did not awaken, nor did anyone find him to do so themselves. He was left there for thousands of years, too long passed and he was mainly overtaken by the growth of vines and moss. Later on, the Darkness-based Infection slipped it's way into his Armour and Spirit, making him forever stricken with a Blight that would affect him when he least expected it.

 

Thankfully for him, his long rest shall end soon...of his own accord. Not because of conflict or another person's wishes; His own will.

Magic:

 

Power of Nothingness: Nergal's hollow nature has granted him powers over the Void, the essence of nothingness. With this power, he can perform a multitude of impressive actions and powers and abilities, for instance: He can attempt to ensnare or at least damage his foes with "Twilight Tendrils", black and white thorny tendrils that can disrupt movement or be used purely for damage by focusing them forward. All of the thorns emerge from a small portal that Nergal calls forth. He can use Nothing as Energy to fire Laser-like projectiles either directly from his hand or suspend them in the air in various patterns and having them fire on a delay. Create damaging, square-segmented barriers in front of him and summon four of them in a rudimentary cage-like fashion around his opponent. Conjure small, electrical energy orbs that when thrown, expand to a much larger size after a delay and fix in place, doing damage in their immediate radius for a short time before fading away. And he can focus his power upon a single target with a Lightning-like ability that, when latched, traps the opponent in place for a short time and curses them, causing damage over time and causing more damage if they make a wrong move, but it can be dispelled with the right move and power.

 

Nergal's movement is hyper-increased, being able to always float above the ground, teleport frequently and leaving after-images behind or in front of him to confuse his enemies. He also can focus his Void Power into his limbs for whenever he kicks or punches, especially for a favoured move of his: Double Roundhouse Kick. Some of his most powerful moves, such as "Grand Cross" that allows him to focus a large amount of Nothingness Energy onto his enemy, or his powerful Telekinesis strong enough to lift buildings, take a long time to charge up and require immense focus.

 

"My meaningless existence has blessed me with great power...I will crush my enemies before they can think."

 

Weapons: "Holy" Glaive: (Pictured Above) A weapon once of Light, in his hands a bringer of dread, this was Meksis's weapon of choice before his spirit was removed, now it is used every so often by the body he left behind.

 

Aerial Blades: His hands aglow with electricity often spawn in a flash of red particles, crimson energy blades from his palms that are often used to pummel his enemy into submission or are fired as projectiles. Their length is variable but they don't go too far, they peak at about the length of his arm and a half.

 

"You dare to challenge me and I will make you suffer for it."

 

Personality: Utterly nihilistic, spiteful and filled to the brim with hatred, Nergal is bitter towards Meksis and anyone involved with the process that made him a Living Armour, the lack of his original spirit has left Nergal without purpose, meaning or drive. He simply wishes to plunder, kill and destroy...well, everything. He cares not for innocent lives, the matters of the powers that be...he doesn't even feel alive anymore. He's also developed a deep misanthropic complex, hating the Humans below as well as other Fey, making him a danger to all life.

 

"Just let it all burn. If I cannot have meaning...then nothing can live...there's no point to any of it."

 

Biography: The process that split Meksis from his body ordinarily leaves the body an empty, lifeless shell. The same happened with Maxis and every other Living Armour that has ever existed...but something went wrong. Without anyone's knowledge, Meksis's Body rose from the grave, seemingly no worse for wear, or so it could have been thought. In reality, the body felt nothing anymore, no warmth, no heartbeat...no purpose. This was a rare occurrence known as "Hollowing", wherein the Body suddenly gains life of it's own, but it isn't truly alive, in fact, it couldn't be any closer to death unless it was killed outright. Over the passing of eons, the Body wandered, desperately searching for meaning, purpose, a reason to be there...and as the history it once was a part of became ancient, the Body formed it's own identity, gained it's new name "Nergal"...but a purpose it could not find. There was nothing to fill the void that once held it's Spirit, the very fiber of a being. Now his travels bring him back to the main Overworld...now he was here for blood.

 

Queen Shiva, Lord Raiden, King Alderon, they meant nothing to him. He just wanted them dead, like everyone else. And he would see to it that they perished or he died trying.

 

"Where do your dreams come from...? Where does your hope go? Why do you even create things or cling to your lives in vain? Let me end it...let me free you from your mortal shell. Let me end your meaningless existence!"

The characters themselves look great, though I am worried about the strong similarities to Maxis.  So long as Scrap does not mind another living armor similar to his, these characters are accepted.

 

Do you have plans for their alignment given the current conflict?  Are they loyal to anyone in particular, or only to their own?  Let me know if you need help in figuring out how they will make an appearance.  Also, are you planning to continue Soren or are you thinking to replace him with these two?

Judging by his post here immediately afterwards, he's welcome to it, but I'll let him tell you what he thinks of his own will.

 

Meksis will seek out Maxis and pledge loyalty to him and anyone he's serving, so that puts him on Queen Shiva's side. Nergal on the other hand is loyal to no one, a totally rogue element of a misanthropic, nihilistic nature. I have a strong idea for Meksis's appearance into the game, slightly less so for Nergal.

 

Soren will still be a character of mine, worry not.

Lol, you should play it, it really is a great game! Feels like a mixture of Pokémon, Kingdom Hearts, and Final Fantasy.

 

What I've been thinking is that maybe before the war that Jynn participated in, he, like Alicia, took a job in monster hunting. After all, the character in my save file is named Jynn as well, so why not?

He reminds of Madara and yes it also is Kingdom Hearts-ish. 

I'm not sure if Midnea realises this, but her life is hanging on by a thread and she is cutting the rope herself.  Burning Raiden's journal while being the last known individual in the room -- who is to say she'll make it to the feast?  *chuckles furtively*.  I kid, I kid.  Poor Raiden will never again leave hexing witches to their own devices, however, especially around priceless books.

Henry has adapted to his current powers, its been somewhat of a year since the experiments that gave him those powers.

But for basic: Rock, fire and dark control (albeit basic dark control). He has adapted and has control over. Also knows how to infuse himself with the accumulated energy of battle to enhance his stats.

 

As of right now, Henry can wrestle Jimba and they'l be almost evenly matched. That is without supercharge. Supercharged Henry I will introduce later down the RP. (if he goes to help Sondon you can be sure I willl show Supercharge there).

 

Any further evolutions and mutations of his powers will require him to adapt to them (like that darkness blast skill I gave him on the way).

pfff Ha! Henry be peeping tom for that dream buddy haha I wonder if Everyth's bathing suit is a 2 piece? hmm... Hope so, that make a nice show of cleavage haha but anyways. As for Henry vs Vark, I expected him to have been holding back right from the gecko, but never knew he had adapted to his current mutation lvl. Good thing Vark's using the Ryobi sword then knowing it's the toughest of the 7 Ryo swords, I believe Henry would need to use his Dreadnaught powers in order to cause real damage that could push towards breaking the Ryobi blade. If Vark had used the Ryona sword to block that strike it would've either have really damaged the blade or maybe even have just cut right through it knowing it's the weakest of the 7 Ryo swords haha but it has it's uses, it has it's uses...

To be honest, I didn't intend for Midnea to find his memoir.  Raiden is first and foremost an honest man with good intent, and second a cautious one.  He would not have let the journal leave its private housing, or allowed unsanctioned servants into his sanctuary unpunished.  At any rate, she would have no prior knowledge or possibility of knowledge of Nihil, plus I have plans for him later on, so Midnea will have to find some other way to tick him off.  Replacing his coffee with sour milk or elderberry juice would be a good way if she survives his counterplay.  Raiden hates the stuff.

Perfect; thank you very much for this.  Everything is as I expected of Henry.  Massive growth, over-the-top tankiness and brute strength, and humble beginnings--an Est-type archetype without being seen in the late-game.  I don't intend to be a pain, but my main concern is that he is getting so powerful in a year, especially after supercharging, that he rivals major fey with centuries or millennia of experience.

Its fine. Though Henry is the first success of a almost complete fusion between man and fey. going by the previojs Ariana incarnations, especially the one from tainted blood. She had very high magical power. And that translates to Henry who uses it in a more physical way.

 

However, that isn't to say that it doesn't come at a price. Dreadnought has a very dark origin. On tainted blood it was made from Henry's reinforced skeleton.

Only further reinforced. It hurst like hell to maintain it.

 

I actualy want to make Henry a glorified all rounder in this RP. Just tanking and brute forcing gets kinda dull when you have been doing it for like three RPs in a row. Lol.
