Kingdom Hearts 3D confirmed for digital release on eShop

Nintendo have confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] will receive a digital release on Nintendo 3DS' eShop. This confirmation comes from Joystiq, who heard the news from Nintendo in a E3 investor presentation. A list of titles confirmed for a digital release can be seen below.

Update: Joystiq have added that Nintendo have included an update to the announcement. Apparently, the digital release announcement "refers to first-party titles only". As Kingdom Hearts 3D is not a first-party title, it seems they were mistaken in announcing that Kingdom Hearts 3D receive a digital release.

... what

No seriously. Why would you even think that?

The blame is clearly on Nintendo here.

well... the reason why i kinda blame it on Disney is because they tend to abuse their copyrights against Square when it comes to their characters and because of that they dont allow Square to put kingdom hearts as downloadable content, like how BBS wasnt on the PSN.

but, of course its also Nintendo's fault as well.

This time it was Nintendo. Don't also forget about utada hikaru, she doesn't want Square to have her song being downloaded in a video game store because it might take away from sales.

That's not really true at all, I can't think of any example. And the BBS thing always seemed fishy, since there were plenty of other Disney games available for download.

I have the physical copy pre-ordered, but this is really stupid. Way to go, Nintendo, way to go. This game looks awesome, but with this on top of the only-three-languages available things, the marketing for this game is turning out to be an epic fail.

Of course Nintendo. Of course.

Well, I never actually thought anyone cared about the digital release itself. I'll be damned

You must be rich if you can throw another $40 away just to get to play the game a few days early.
