Today at Tokyo Game Show 2012, Square Enix have announced a HD collection of Kingdom Hearts titles, named Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5 ReMIX-. The collection includes Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hears 358/2 Days, all for the PlayStation 3. Kingdom Hearts Final Mix and Re:Chain of Memories will be HD remasters, and have trophy support, while 358/2 Days will simply be cutscenes remade into HD for a Theatre Mode. The release date as this stage is simply 2013.

Update 1: Message from the KINGDOM has provided us with more information about Kingdom Hearts for PC Browsers. Oishii from KH13 is translating this information, and you can read it below.

In memory of this year being the 10th Anniversary of the "Kingdom Hearts" series, we are compiling a collection of the first works "Kingdom Hearts" and "KH Re:Chain of Memories" in HD. Furthermore, 2009’s Nintendo DS game "KH 358/2 Days", which received much credit for its enjoyable story, will be compiled as well.

“Kingdom Hearts” (first work) game’s later release with various additional content “KH Final Mix” (Japanese language release) will receive an entire HD rendition.
With the two HD remakes, we will add fully remade HD event scenes from Nintendo’s DS game “KH 358/2 Days”. This remake will give a new feeling to the series, and the 3 editions to the series will be a collection you should look forward to.

Furthermore, KH and KH Re:CoM will also support PlayStation 3's trophy system.

Update 3: Square Enix have updated their TGS 2012 website with a page for the Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5 ReMIX-.

Update 4: 4Gamer.net have published an article revealing some more small details about the announcements. While Kingdom Hearts Final Mix originally had English voice acting, the version of the game appearing in the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5 ReMIX- will have Japanese voice acting-- including all extra scenes.

Update 5: Footage from Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5 ReMIX continues to be shown at Tokyo Game Show 2012. Both ArikaMiz and aibo_ac7 have Tweeted some small details about the video, revealing that some text scenes from 358/2 Days will be made into HD cutscenes. The video shown contains clips from all the opening video of all 3 games, as well as a scene with Xion and Axel, where Axel says "let's go to the beach", and Xion responds. (Thanks to goldpanner for the translation.)

I think everyone is glad to know that Days is getting remade and that the final mix version of number one is coming out possibly to other places and kh com being udated again is very nice. I wonder will they include multiplayer online functions for playing uses for Days for the missions or will it be only single player all the way?

Just the scenes are being remade for Days in a theater mode, no gameplay. Re:Com may or may not be completely remade.

Its so nice from the Kingdom Hearts team to do something like that, because 70% of kingdom hearts players forgot most of KH 1, and KH re:chain of memories, so this might show us new hints about what will happen in KH 3.

About the KH computer game, its not worth it. I dont think there will be some one that would play it.

We don't know yet. So far only a Japanese release has been confirmed, but that's to be expected considering the game is made in Japan. The international releases are always confirmed later.

Not remade, ported.

PSP games like Ghost of Sparta and MGS Peace Walker were ported over to PS3 less than a year after the initial release. So why not 3D?

I just don't think DDD will be included, if it is it will only be the cutscenes like Days and Coded. Mostly because it was made with 3D in mind and also the Dream Eater function uses the touch screen on the 3DS so how are you going to port that to the ps3? Birth By Sleep will be playable mostly because the PSP plays like a sony console and the graphics of BBS are on par with the console games hecK BBS was originally going to be on the ps2. I'm not the only one who thinks that DDD will probably be the only one not in 2.5 cause it just doesnt seem likely but if it is then awesome.

The PS3 does support 3D. Sure, it's only good for people who have a 3D tv but still.

They could just work around that. It wouldn't be too much effort to replace those things with something that works better for a home console.

They're not remaking the game, just porting it to a different platform. It's like a multiplatform release. You have it for the 3DS, you can play it on the go; you have it for PS3, you can play it on the big screen. I don't see how it's a waste of time and money whatsoever.
