  1. Hmmm, I wonder what's for dinner!
  2. The problem with the gaming industry these days is too many toasters. You know what they say, all toasters, toast toast!
  3. But they really haven't. Its fine if you prefer another console, but the Xbox is far from shit.Xbox Live is the largest online gaming community. And thats with it being an optional and paid service. Clearly, a lot of people like it.
  4. For me it's immersion. I like to feel part of the game that I'm playing. I want to go in and actually care for the characters and events that happen. I like to think that the world I am playing in has always existed and will continue to exist regardless of whether I'm playing the game or not. There's a lot of things that contribute to immersion. At the end of the day, if I can feel like this virtual world in a game is as real as ours, then it's accomplished it's goal. Also for the sake of clarification, I'm not talking about realism. Realistic games can play a part of it but it's by no means a requirement for total immersion. A game like Mario, specifically Super Mario Galaxy for me is anything but realistic, but the game is able to convince me that what I'm witnessing on screen, despite all logic and reasoning, is completely feasible and possible in that world.
  5. Right, the company that has been widely considered to have the best E3 conference for about 5 years now absolutely has nothing worth showing. I mean, they just released their next generation console and have dozens of triple A games in production, clearly they have nothing to show at all.
  6. Behold. Utter fanboy idiocy. Here's a picture of the Playstation controller for you blokes to furiously fap to. Seriously, we don't know anything about the new Xbox other than rumors that can't even be confirmed. I feel like that there are some people who are such fanboys that they will buy a literal bag of shit as long as it had the logo of their favorite company on it. Doesn't even go for game consoles. Look at Apple vs PC fantards or virtually anything else out there. It's just stupid beyond all measure. This is why major companies in the gaming industry are treating gamers like absolute dumbasses. Once they are hooked on their product, be it a game franchise, console, or service, the passive consumer sheep will accept whatever bullcrap these companies shit out and spend their money on it. Every company is doing it, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony they are all guilty and I can't blame them for making easy money. EA is obviously the worse offender but it's the direction the industry is going. Even Valve has exploited this, hats in TF2 have basically shown that people are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on things that are 100% useless and completely virtual. TL;DR and my own burning hatred of fanboyism aside, even if you prefer one company over another, at least wait for information on the other product before bashing it. Acting like this will only ensure that the game companies we know and love will continue to exploit us.
  7. Great, now E3 will just be Sony and Microsoft basically whoring as much money and attention as possible while showing us absolutely no new innovation. I'm not too upset though. It seems that Nintendo is, as usual, trying to risks with new technology and see how it pays off.
  8. I always liked Olette. She doesn't do or say much in the game but I dunno. She's not sexualized, is very friendly without being goddamn annoying, and I like her English voice. She just seems like the type of girl you could easily become friends with and not have it focused on eventually forming a romantic relationship. Hopefully Olette and hell, even Hayner and Pence make more appearances in KH games and play a potentially bigger part in the story. They just seem like a great trio of friends. Honestly, I want to see more playable female characters in KH. We probably won't see any other than Aqua and possibly Kairi until after KH3 (so basically never) but hopefully more get added in. I'm not sure why there aren't more already to be honest considering that at least 40% to 50% of the people who play the game are female (if the polls here are KH13 are to be accurate. )
  9. Because killing someone in game and knowing that somewhere across the world, you are making someone rage/cry is so satisfying. Also computers are easy and predictable. Yeah you can turn up the difficulty, but that doesn't change how enemies behave, just how deadly they are to you and how tough they are too kill. Good players in a multiplayer game can provide a good challenge that won't be met by even the most advanced enemy AIs for some time to come.
  10. Beta version is, generally, the final version of the game before release. Updates and patches can be made for a beta, but it's still not the final product. Sometimes games developers release the beta to the public, allowing them to see any major and minor issues with the game that can be addressed before the final product is released. This is very important to do in multiplayer games because if something is unbalanced, laggy, glitchy or just plain broken, the game will get a bad reputation early on because there was no beta around to fix these problems. Sometimes the beta is free, other times you have to purchase the game in advanced or some other purchase deal to access it. Generally if the the beta version is public, players who participated in it are often given a small reward, usually in the form of an ingame item/currency. Some games don't have public betas also. There is nothing wrong with it and is actually better for single player games where releasing a beta could spoil a large part of the story, unlike a demo which can keep things limited.
  11. I actually don't really hate any of my classes. There are some that I don't like very much but It's not like I dread going to them. The class I like the least is probably Gym. I'm not unathletic or anything it's just that it's annoying to get changed and all of the douchey jocks get to act like well, douchey jocks.
  12. Here's a question, why do girls go into the bathroom together and why do they take so long?
  13. I've drifted away and had ties cut with friends in the past, but I never feel sad or angry when I walk by them. I generally don't feel anything at all.
  14. No. I want to be able to get off it first so I can watch while eating popcorn/laughing in space. Then I could meet aliens and pull of the cliche "I am the last of my species and no matter how useless or annoying I am that makes me important and well liked!"
  15. This video is irrelevant. What happened in it was self defense, not retribution like the OP seeks. If you're not going to fight back when it's happening, then don't bother starting it up again. That's what a coward would do.
  16. Starting fights is something only animals and inbreds do, so don't start one. Only fight to defend yourself and nothing more. Getting back at someone who punched you a day again isn't self defense. Also, you really shouldn't be starting fights without ever being in one before, that's basically asking to get your ass handed to you. And people, stop telling him to start a fight, you all sound like morons.
  17. Nuke it from orbit, its the only way to be sure.
  18. Don't question it! My logic makes so much sense.
  19. Ever have that feeling where you think you've made a horrible mistake but you don't want to correct it just to see how horrible it turns out? Yeah I have that feeling.
  20. There's been quite a trend of people posting threads whenever moderators don't happen to be online. Nothing is wrong with these threads at all, though considering they all tend to be the same (declaring there are no mods, then posting images, videos, and other media to celebrate) I feel that creating an official pinned thread for however long this fad last would be the best options. Please note that this thread being pinned is temporary, when the fad slows down it will be unpinned. So yeah, whenever none of us happen to be online, post here and party!
  21. Actually there were even more stupid arguments before you joined, a lot of them got really intense very personal to be honest. Part of it had to do with a lack of mods and even mods taking part in the arguments. Last year we only had a few incidents of drama, not too sure why but it seems everyone got along pretty well. This year isn't too bad, apart from one incident that I can recall, there have been no personal attacks on people and rather just people having disagreements, if intense ones. I feel that it's sort of the middle ground this year so far, part of it is because a lot of newer members are rather positive and upbeat about things. The sectional moderator program has also stopped things from getting out of control. Really the best way to prevent drama is for people to realize when they should stop talking and to apologize if they said anything genuinely wrong. Drama only happens when people want to go back and forth and in circles while refusing to believe they have done anything wrong, which is sadly human nature but with a little self restraint we can cut down on it. Though people yelling and bickering with each other is natural on every forum and impossible to prevent and most people here don't hold grudges. We are a like a big dysfunctional but happy family. We have a very positive member base and as long as we can keep it like that this site should be fine for years to come.

  23. Is it time for the Third Great Brony Crusade? Has the time come to stomp out the filthy heretics and unite the forum under the rule of our God-Emperor?
