I had the exact same problem when that happened to me, it got so annoying that I just decided not to use the Drive forms against him.

I always either have my DS, 3DS, or PSP with me at all times when we're traveling. Even though I don't play them half the time, I always make sure I have something to keep me busy & out of boredom
