1. MX being such a blatantly shoehorned Villain Sue. 2. His overly convoluted and specific time-travel (versus, say, the reasonable and simple Timeless River shenanigans from KH2). 3. The more-recent games going out of their way to make the good guys' efforts look as bleak and ineffective as possible. ... Wait, why does that all sound so familiar? ... ...

Everything (except Ursula's Revenge) in KH2's Atlantica.

While MX is my least-favorite character, at least he's still awesome in terms of VA performance (R.I.P., Chikao Ohtsuka and Leonard Nimoy).

However, the DDD Ultimania explicitly calls MX's revived form his "true body" -- i.e., the original from BBS.

Ever since 2008 or so, I've always wanted KH3's theme to be "King Of Pain" by Sting & The Police.

Evidently, Square didn't learn their lesson after FF13-2. If you nigh-instantly nullify pretty much everything the player's accomplished in multiple games throughout the years, don't be surprised if he/she just abandons ship due to sheer burnout.

Why do so many people seem to overlook all that (in addition to Eraqus's heart, of course)?

The only good thing was Leonard Nimoy. Other than that, worst KH character, IMO.

If you want something that actually backs up what it keeps preaching about "balance," then go watch How To Train Your Dragon instead.

There's definitely a chronic "Show, don't tell" problem with him: 1. They tell us he's well-intentioned, but keep showing us practically a male Maleficent on steroids. 2. They tell us he's "a devious tactician" with bad@$$ foresight, but keep showing him only really succeeding via retcon and/or Nerfing everyone else in the process. 3. They tell us his views themselves are superior to Eraqus's, but keep showing Darkness as mostly bad anyway (note -- even Riku ultimately said, "Consume the Darkness, return it to Light"). P.S.: At least Leonard Nimoy's voice made him sound cool and sagely.

I asked myself that exact same question during the ending of the original 3D.

COM!Riku: "My Darkness doesn't have to be bad." DDD!Riku: "I'll turn my Darkness into more Light!" Back to square one, huh? I envy you, then.

I sometimes have that "put words into my mouth" problem, too, which is why I try to avoid debates like the plague whenever I can.
