  1. In spite of myself, I think Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is... actually pretty entertaining.

I've been meaning to watch it, but I didn't had enough free time. Perhaps on the weekend I will watch a few episodes.

You can watch it if only for the opening and ending themes. They're so catchy it's stupid.

  2. My sense of humor doesn't feel like doing any work today.

  3. Kinda stoked those KH novels will be available digitally. Next time I won't have to sneak into the Teens section at Barnes & Noble while hiding my deep, deep shame.

Wasn't there that point when Donald becomes an alcoholic after he thought Goofy had died?

I was under the impression that Donald was always drunk. Why do you think he keeps mistiming his Cures?

  5. Master Xehanort is gorgeous and we should all be self-conscious.
  6. I've wondered about that too, but as it's been mentioned, it's probably not something you're meant to think about too hard. Most elements in Kingdom Hearts are like that. If I had to take a crack at it with my own personal headcanons: 1: If the worlds are depicted like miniature planets, you'd probably just circle back the way you came. You can't get to places like the Lanes Between without some way to bypass the world's barriers. 2: The correlation probably depends on how much continuity you want to believe the Disney franchise has with each other. China in Mulan might be the same as the China in Tarzan, or you can believe the world of Mulan and Tarzan have their own versions of China. It's up to you, because I doubt it's a question KH feels the need to answer. I personally believe each Disney world is its own universe, with their own versions of China. My question is whether those Disney worlds are full-sized Earth planets like ours, or if it's mainly just China or Deep Jungle. 3: Stitch's native universe is never explored in detail, so I thought Deep Space's ship was just traveling through the Lanes Between/Sea of Stars/whateverthingy. KH has its own mechanics regarding different worlds, so having a giant galaxy with its own alien planets would seem kind of redundant.
  7. Doubt it, but it's fun to think of Vanitas as an anti-hero. All those Unversed gotta be useful for something.
  8. Anything related to modern medicine. I would not want a root canal in the 1800's. Oh, and those super fast boiler pots. It makes brewing coffee and tea much easier.
  9. It's a Kingdom Hearts.

  10. Spilled all my coffee on the floor and have been dropping things all day. It's only a matter of time before I destroy something that I'd really prefer not be destroyed.

  11. All the way back on Destiny Islands. I was an awful keyblade wielder.
  12. I'd say Saix just because of the listed members whose backstories we actually know about, he seems like the only one who wasn't an awful person before becoming a Nobody.
  13. When I need a guide or information, I prefer a general walkthrough with no commentary, unless that commentary is VERY informed and the voice doesn't annoy me -- RohamMythril my go-to example for this if you've heard of him. I watch LPs when I just wanna have some fun, but I'm very very VERY picky about who I watch. Back then, when I mainly used gameplay videos as guides, I thought peoples' commentary got in the way of the experience and just wanted them to shut up. But then I caught whiff of PewDiePie's videos, and even though I stopped watching him after a while, it was the first time I realized that commentary can actually be entertaining. Right now I mainly just watch Markiplier and the Game Grumps, along with a few miscellaneous channels, and I think I'm picky because being a good LPer (rather, being an LPer I'd want to watch) is hard to pull off. Some people just aren't that great at talking, have a voice you don't particularly enjoy listening to, aren't good or at least entertaining as a gamer, or some combination. One of the main reasons I watch LPers like Markiplier and the Grumps is that I actually enjoy listening to them. Markiplier admittedly was an acquired taste. I though his voice was too, well, powerful for the kinds of spooky atmospheric games he tends to play, but since I was interested in the games themselves, I gave more of his videos a chance and I've stuck with him since. And the Grumps aren't that great of gamers while on the camera, but their commentary usually makes up for it unless they're really messing around.
  14. Apparently a clown was spotted at my old university. They're migrating.

  15. I remember when I was just a Legendary. Now I'm somehow a Keyblade Master. Such hax, I don't even have a keyblade.

  16. Birthday happy! May your dreams be filled with the lovely sounds of Kefka's laughter.

Thank you! I hope my dreams are filled with such melodious music as well.

  17. Sure, but at this point I've just learned to just roll with them. Things like the retcons usually didn't bother me (in some cases, are even preferable to what was established before), or I can at least tolerate them for the sake of following the story... like the time travel thing. Really wish that one didn't happen, but what can we do? At least Nomura writing by the seat of his pants is giving us a wild adventure.
  18. How can one say that death in KH is meaningless if pretty much no one has technically 'died' to begin with? If anything, folks are just temporarily displaced, whether by merging with someone or having their heart in hibernation or what have you. I understand if someone feels the emotional impacts are cheapened because consequences don't seem permanent, but that just makes me direct my emotional investment to other areas. Even if we as the audience know someone will be fine, a character will not, and their reactions can be where we get our investment from. Like many others, I do want Roxas and co. to come back, because I feel like their stories aren't done yet. It didn't feel like proper closure to me. No, deaths don't have to be satisfying and Simple and Clean, but killing someone off when it feels like there's so much more to be done with them can make fans want for more... except Roxas and the others weren't even technically killed off. Even at the end of KH2 they're shown to have some kind of remaining presence inside Sora and Kairi. And even after spoiling myself silly about the story (I didn't get into the series until a little before BBS came out) and therefore knowing what happens ahead of time, I still didn't think Roxas's story was done. Or, I could've grudgingly accepted it, but KH feels like a game that wants to give proper closure to things. There's nothing wrong with such a direction in an overall lighthearted series, and I mean, it is 50 percent Disney.
  19. Be honest, if you didn't know any better, wouldn't you think Lann looks like he comes straight from a KH game? This is Sora's kid if I ever saw one. http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/File:WoFF_Lann_Artwork.png

Normura DID design him though. No Reynn and Lann's mother must be that lady in the mask. xD

The mommy is clearly Kairi. Or Riku. Or maybe it's good ol' Nomura.

  20. The only one that springs to mind is FFVII, though that's not completely true. I've gotten bored with the vanilla game after many many many playthroughs over the years, and I've since turned to mods to bring something fresh to the table without making me rely on self-imposed challenges. I never did have fun with things like a 'no materia' challenge. That's what makes the gameplay fun for me!
  21. Haven't cried yet, but Days got the closest with me somewhat choking up at Xion's death. Yes, even with the ice cream line.
  22. When you get down to it, KH in general has a habit of people supposedly being close friends not bothering to talk things out. Even Roxas/Axel/Xion, imo the most solid trio that actually feel like friends besides Sora/Donald/Goofy, wind up falling apart because of a lack of communication (though at least it's because there are awful truths involved). I like TAV but I honestly prefer seeing them in fanfiction and fanart rather than the actual games, where their friendship is condensed into the first few minutes and then they spend the rest of the game separated and getting into fights -- not really a lot of friendship going on there. And while we're on the subject of Ventus, he is honestly one of my least favorite characters, but only because we already have Sora and Roxas -- I don't really need someone who's essentially a blend of both.
