  1. I know a lot of the other games are, ya know, better designed, but FF3 always has a special place in my heart. I just wish it didn't force you to go through 2 dungeons and 5 bosses in the end without saving.
  2. I wish that were the case for all of them. Stuff like the .hack games and obscure horror games like Rule of Rose can go for over $80 on ebay used because they got a first print of like 5 copies, and they'll probably be reprinted or digitally released the day the PS4 actually has games.
  3. So, what would be the class promotion for Social Justice Warrior?
  4. *That was always one thing I hated about FE was that in most games you could only have 5 "ranked" support conversations per character per campaign, so a lot of the support conversations were locked out for no reason other than not having an S-support level like Awakening introduced, so I hope that's something they retain with later entries.
  5. Yeah, that's probably it. A lot of the characters just come off as too "anime" for me to really like, but if that's something you like, that's fine. I like the whole marriage system too, since it's basically what they did in FE4 minus the time travelling plot device, and I'm glad the support system isn't so limiting now. That was always one thing I hated about FE was that in most games you could only have 5 "ranked" support conversations per...
  6. I started replaying it recently too, and I still think Awakening is the best FE except for the fact that the characters aren't really that interesting and it feels more like a dating sim than an srpg. The actual battle system is on point, though, although there's a couple of random difficulty spikes especially when you get to Valm.
  7. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaoB7lnOiXMRayman is a fake.
  8. me too. lol Waiting for these pikmin to finish is suffering.
  9. Unfortunately no, we get like maybe one or two snow days a year unless there's a straight up temporal anomaly going on. But with it being the south and all, it doesn't take much to cancel classes anyway as long as the ground is cold enough for snow to stick on. lol
  10. I have two exams tomorrow along with another one on Friday, so I'm partially hoping for some divine intervention to happen or else I may have to drop dead.
  11. Sakurai says every smash game is the last one since Melee, so you kind of have to take it with a grain of salt at this point. lolThat said, while Sakurai is obviously a very good game designer, the attitude he has for the games has also been detrimental to them. The only reason Brawl was such a slow-paced game with random mechanics like tripping was because of how much he hated the competitive scene that came out of Melee and made sure to destroy mechanics he already knew about during development such as wavedashing, and he even did things like took out edge-hogging in the newest game.I'm not saying Melee was the only good Smash game (since tbh SSB4 is probably the best one yet since it's basically a faster-paced and less floaty Brawl), but even if Sakurai is really leaving this time around, I don't think that is necessarily a red flag for the quality of future installments as a whole.
  12. I haven't played much of the recent reboot, but they play a lot like Core's games where there's a heavy emphasis on platforming and puzzle solving. They're not as narrative heavy, but they're really fun. Anniversary is a really solid remake of the original game, and Legend is really good albeit really short game, like you can play through the game over a weekend or in a single day even on a first playthrough. Underworld is ok too, but I never finished that one.
  13. Legend and Anniversary are really legit. Underworld, not so much.
  14. I refuse to buy an amiibo until Mr Game & Watch and Duck Hunt get the respect they deserve.
  15. Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon / Story of Seasons, and Kirby are all pretty chill games.
  16. I only had enough coins for one virtual console game and had to decide between Golden Sun or Earthbound, so I just went with EB.
  17. the CDI trilogy trilogy is an anomaly in the space-time continuum that should not exist
  18. I'd rather have Zelda as the straight up protagonist but w/e.
  19. I wouldn't say gimmicks don't work in the context of Smogon (minus them specifically removing stuff like swagger or baton pass chain teams which I personally think is a lot of bullshit, but I digress). Like you can use whatever pokemon you want, and the tiers are moreso based on usage than which pokemon are actually better than the rest minus specific cases like tier bans (which makes it kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy, but there's a lot of UU pokemon that are still viable for OU anyway). The problem is that Smogon teams in this generation tend to be either stall or setup based because of it being Singles, so a lot of gimmicks that require setup can't work when Spikes + Whirlwind roulette is a major strategy.I like going on wifi battles on the games better just because there's less centralization and I see really cool ideas for strategies that I wouldn't see on Smogon singles because of the metagame, but if you like Smogon rules better that's fair enough. But yeah, Smash tiers and Pokemon tiers are very different considering Smash tiers are based on who would win more often if both people had the same skill level and no advantage outside of whichever side the RNG favors, so it's not really usage based as much as Pokemon.
  20. I thought it was hit and miss. It's based off of the really old FF games moreso than Bravely Default, so it suffered a lot of those problems too. Like temporary party members taking your equipment with them when you leave, no real clear direction on where to go, random difficulty spikes, etc. The music was hella legit, though, especially since it used a mix of NES and more realistic instrument samples, plus there were day / night themes for towns and overworld areas. In fact I would say some of the songs are on the same level as Bravely Default's.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mG5QgG5zPs4
  21. I play a lot of rpgs these days, but I wouldn't say they were my favorite genre. SRPGs like Fire Emblem, Devil Survivor, and X-Com are the shit though.
  22. Sorry about the wait, it's been a long few days. lol Name: "Sam" Age: 20 Gender: Female Appearance: 5'7" and with a small frame, brown shoulder-length hair, small green eyes, and has ears that stick out a bit too much. She wears a light blue top under an unzipped brown bomber jacket, dark blue pants, brown ankle boots, and has a black kerchief tied around her neck. Schrodinger's Cat
  23. I could probably go on a whole spiel about why I hate the Tumblr community in general, but those are pretty much the biggest problems I have. That and people who self-diagnose themselves seriously. lol
