  1. There's justification for that though, there's lots of tough bosses that require having broken attacks like that in order to measure up, Re:Coded's system just feels cheap to me, it feels more artificial than simply having commands that are literally too big to fit anywhere, and there's plenty of bosses and challenges where having the capability to have more broken commands in one deck would feel justified enough at higher levels after you've actually earned it. It doesn't feel like balance, it feels like slapping you in the face for even thinking that you can be clever about how you set up your deck. At least Chain of Memories had a simple Card Points system. It's like the Memory system, each card takes up a certain amount, but guess what? You could actually LEVEL UP your maximum CP, OR you could even use the Premium Roulette to make your cards cost less CP. Now if the card system, essentially the origin of the Deck Command system itself, could be that balanced and still have a way of leveling up your capacity, why can't the Memory system? Because without that capability to expand your memory capacity or lower the memory cost of your commands after a certain point, it's not really balancing anything, it's just restricting, and they realized that, that's why the DDD command system mirrors BBS's, because they know that works better. You don't need to nerf the player to up the challenge, you just need to boost the challenge itself.
  2. Really? Of all things? I'm surprised they haven't attacked Sega yet for making Sonic games because it might encourage legal hedgehog owners to try and stuff real hedgehogs into sneakers or something stupid like that. Or better yet, suing Disney for having a mouse as a mascot because the Bald Eagle is dangerously close to being extinct these days and deserves to have much more exposure and attention as a children's icon so that adults will feel terrible about needlessly killing them, despite that not being an issue back when Mickey Mouse was first invented in the freaking 20's. Or even- You know what, I can't even think of anything dumber than what PETA has decided to complain about over the years at this point, they're just that perplexingly idiotic. Cow cruelty is nothing to be proud of, but it's certainly not something that's getting a safe-space because Nintendo has a freaking minigame centered around the traditional safe version of milking cows in a game that's supposed to have simplified premises for over 30 different minigames. What, is it because it "lies" to people about what the current state of milk-farming is? Like Nintendo is supposed to represent a completely different industry? Pardon the pun, but that's just a load of bull.
  3. Again, BBS already addressed having too many OP commands by simply making the more powerful ones take up more than one slot. It would be impossible to have that many Judgement Triads if you simply used the same idea as making it take up 2 or even 3 slots in the command menu. But noooooooooooooo, we got be all "computer-y" and make up something that can't be adjusted in any way what so ever, you could even cap out using less destructive commands before ever filling out all 8 of those slots. They tried to fix what was never broken and ended up breaking it even more, they either should have left it alone like Dream Drop Distance did or just should have made a method where you could either decrease the amount of memory each command takes up after leveling it up enough or unlocking a cheat at level 100 or something that allows you to ignore or boost the CPU Memory since you're already OP anyway so why pull any punches at that point? Seriously, 8 Judgement Triads my ass, I'd like to just install ONE with any of my other preferred commands.
  4. BBS command meld was probably the most fun, creative, and intuitive form of synthesis I've experienced in the series so far, though Dream Eaters are a close second. I would be tempted to give Re:Coded a 3rd place spot...if it weren't for the BS CPU Memory thing it has! Seriously, on top of the 8-command slot limit I also have to worry about taking up made-up memory as well? I only knock this because BBS showed that you can have this system be limited without needing to make up some kind of nonsense like "uh-oh, you can't use this command even though there's enough slots for it, YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH CPU MEMORY!" If you could do things like level up your memory capacity or lower the amount of memory each command uses as you level them up, then I wouldn't have a problem with this system, it would have been more incentive to synthesize, use, and level up a whole bunch of commands without needing to be the same exact game BBS was. But no, you can't do any of that, the memory is just there to nerf you even further and frustrate you from never being able to have a sufficient deck. It essentially has no purpose beyond limiting you even further. What's the point of all of the these "cheats" if I can't even upgrade my CPU Memory?
  5. As a kid playing the game for the first time, you bet your ass it's a hard boss! Even after I became a veteran of the series, he's still really difficult for the kind of game that KH1 is. I haven't even beaten him in one try yet, at best I've just been whittling down the number of attempts necessary to beat him over the years. Though I will admit it's not as hard to beat him nowadays now that I know his patterns and how to avoid them all, but even knowing that it's still difficult to just jump right in. I will also admit though that Riku Replica IV is a MUCH harder boss comparatively speaking, especially when you consider that the only way to avoid his attacks is to interrupt them with Zero-value cards, unless you've become a Dodge-Roll boss. Probably the least difficult incarnation of this boss is Data Riku from Re:Coded, but even then he's still relatively challenging for that game, and he was almost being treated like a final boss. All I'm saying is that while it is awesome that you managed to beat this boss with little to no difficulty, you shouldn't take it so lightly. It's still a pretty tough boss for most players, whether they be first-timers or series veterans. If anything, you should just wear it as a symbol of pride and take it as a sign that you have a lot of skill as a gamer. But then again, maybe that's more appropriate after beating him on Proud mode (challenge accepted?). Another reason is that it probably depends on how you play the game. If you're going in with a serious, no nonsense, play to win kind of approach to games, then yeah eventually you'll pick up on the strategy pretty easily. But if you're like me and like to have a bit of fun with making the scenario feel a bit more epic, you might be trying a bunch of different tricks to keep the scene "cinematic", which sometimes involves taking a few hits or using attacks that you know either don't do any damage, trigger his own retaliations, or just don't do as much damage as other attacks. It's a manner of limiting yourself that is really just meant to make battles look more cool while at the same time giving you an added sense of challenge no matter what difficulty level you're at. Keep in mind though that this has caused me to restart many boss battles either from dying because I was trying to make it so perfect or just restarting on purpose because it wasn't "perfect" enough. So yeah, pointlessly making things more difficult for myself, but with the fun aesthetic of essentially controlling my own movie.
  6. Actually, no, not even nearly as much time has passed since the end of KH2. Sora is still 15 in Re:Coded, DDD, and 0.2, because this: The Ultimania is pretty much the guidebook to what should be considered "canon" in the KH series, so if it says Sora is 15 during those events, then he's still 15. At best, a couple of weeks or maybe a whole month or two passed between KH2's ending (pre-credits) and 0.2's ending. Sora is essentially still in his 15 year old body. You can still argue that he matured a bit, because growth spurts are still a thing when you're 15, but it's not as radical of a change as it was from his 14 year old KH1 self. So even then he barely looks different and that just supports the idea that not a whole lot of time has passed since KH2's conclusion. I mean, unless Donald and Goofy were celebrating Sora's birthday before Riku woke up in DDD's ending, but they never specified what they were celebrating and I seriously doubt it was his birthday anyway, otherwise they would have been making a much bigger deal out of it. And unless they do specify that Sora's birthday occurs in one of the passing days between KH2 to 0.2, or even between 0.2 to 3 or even during the days that 3 takes place in, he's still going to be 15 years old until either another year is explicitly confirmed to pass or his age is directly acknowledged as being older in-game or in the Ultimania.
  7. All of them. They're all beautiful. I know I'm a sell-out, shut up!
  8. Well also some of us would rather not go thru the extra effort. I'd prefer the more direct approach, especially since that would avoid having to pay shipping fees.
  9. So can we actually adjust the screen ratio in 1.5+2.5 like we could with the PS3 versions? Cause I've been playing KH1 so far, and while it's not the worst thing in the world, I really would prefer to adjust the ratio so that everything fit within the screen a bit better. It's just small things like the text boxes being too close to the edge or the heart loading logo being too close to the corner, etc. I mean if they were going to leave it pre-set for us, why leave it at such a relatively cramped ratio? *UPDATE* Okay, I managed to get around the issue by adjusting my TV's screen settings from 16:9 to Screen Fit, so it's showing the whole display, but still, they really should have left us the option to adjust the display, especially since each TV is different, especially in how you can customize the image and picture size. If anything they outright replaced it with that annoying "don't share this for the music" notification, I mean what was the point? I get that copyright stuff is important, especially on a system that revolves around sharing content, but did it really have to come at the cost of personalizing the screen? At the very least you could have assigned a different button to it on the Title Selection Menu. Oh well, a minor complaint at best.
  10. Nu fair, I want Tsum Tsums in my KH too. Pwease give them to us Square, they're SOOOOO CUUUUUTE! TT3TT"" </3
  11. Some of us would rather have these on our phones.
  12. Completely agree, why the hell haven't they put them on iTunes yet? This is freaking ridiculous. At this point, I wouldn't really be surprised if Disney just doesn't care about KH, considering how they turned down the opportunity to make a fortune off of a KH tv series. Disney makes no sense most of the time. -_-"
  13. Graduated High School, graduated community college, got a girlfriend, started university, moved to campus, lost a girlfriend. Very eventful life to say the least, and KH is always playing in the background, through thick or thin. I love this series, it's practically a part of me.
  14. Fighting and MMORPG. Whether that means it's KH having it's own fighting game (like Dissidia was originally meant to be) or if some KH characters are featured in another popular fighting franchise installment (Come ooooooonnnn Super Smash Bros 5......you know SSB5 is happening, they just won't let Sakurai rest), I'd be happy to see what makes the cut as signature moves. As for an MMORPG, while I guess we technically have that now with Union Cross, it'd be nice to have a full-fledged 3D style kind of thing, something with a similar setup to Chi but with the fun and action of BBS's Mirage Arena.
  15. Can't even submit my vote, the dumb thing is asking for a "postal code" and nothing I put in satisfies it. I only have a ZIP-code, what more do you want? Is this a UK thing or something, cause it seems really dumb to ask for this sort of thing.
  16. Wow, I hope someone has footage of those new songs they performed up there, I'd love to hear Lazy Afternoons/At Dusk I'll Think of You.
  17. Awwww man, I really thought they'd actually be smart and jump on this money boat for a change! Oh well, at least it's not ruled out entirely. Still, I would have thought that they'd have caught on to the hype and attention that KH has been garnering, and how much more money they would make off of it if they just capitalized on marketing it more like their other products. Guess that just means that we have to keep making more noise and waves everywhere we go. More fan works, more cosplay gatherings at theme parks, more direct messages to Disney that we want more Kingdom Hearts everything. Even if they didn't jump at the chance here, it certainly feels like they're slowly catching on to KH's potential, so maybe in time they might change their mind and give the go-ahead for this little pilot after all. I just hope we don't have to wait another 10 years to see it happen.
  18. Make that a CD of the concert album and you've got yourself a deal! I honestly don't get the whole vinyl revival thing, I'd rather have it in a format that I can actually digitize and put into my phone later. Besides, I'd actually be buying the music LIKE YOU WANT ME TO SQUARE. Seriously just put everything on iTunes already.
  19. I'm confident they'll have a day one patch for any issues that come up, and if not they'll probably get to it within the first few weeks like with the Japanese version. Any issues that still linger will probably still be addressed later. I mean if they're still going to keep adding/fixing things to FFXV, then they really have no excuse not to do so here.
  20. I'm stuck between Sora/Roxas/Ventus, Riku (all the hairs), Axel, and Master Xehanort. After all, bald is beautiful. X)"
  21. That thought never came across my mind, considering how there was nothing to suggest that they didn't exactly know what a Keyblade was, not even in KH1, and that's before the idea of more than one or a few wielders was even thought up. They just knew that they had to find someone with one and that it was pretty important that they did. Them already knowing that their King is a wielder and knowing about at least two other wielders (again, still being very quick to forget them as well since they only interacted with Aqua and Ven ONCE in their whole lives, TEN FREAKING YEARS AGO) doesn't really change how they go about the situation, nor should it really. At best you would just replace the word "key" with "Keyblade" in their first few scenes, but even then that's sooooo minor. Everything they learned in KH1 was stuff they still wouldn't have known before and HAD to learn in KH1, like what the Heartless were, their attraction to hearts and the Keyblade, and their threat to the worlds, there's basically nothing they had to know about in that game that gets retconned by BBS (as far as Donald and Goofy are concerned). But again, even if that was what he was talking about, he's got to come out and say so instead of having everyone try to figure out what he's specifically having a problem with, since that makes answering his question much MUCH easier.
  22. I'm not really sure what you're asking for. If you're wondering if something is breaking canon, you're going to have to be a bit more specific about what it might be. If you're talking about the fact that Donald and Goofy met Ven before but never bring him up or the fact that they've both been to Yen Sid's tower before but in the beginning of KH2 don't remember it, as if they were never there before, then maybe you could argue that this "breaks canon". But even then, not really. I mean, Ven probably didn't leave that much of an impression on them (sorry Ven), it's not like with Sora where they went on many adventures together, they only knew him for a bit and if anything would have remembered him as "that one guy who went and got our king for us and we never saw again" or whatever. At least Mickey had a few fun-ins with him and actually helped him fight off a bad guy, they even shared a few things in common, if Ven had just let Donald and Goofy come with him to rescue Mickey, they might have had a bit more reason to remember him, an adventure to share. So it's not really their fault, Ven just kind of gave them less reason to really remember him that easily. As far as the tower itself goes...eh, I could buy them not remembering about the place right off the bat if they haven't been there in +10 years since BBS, especially after just waking up from a year-long nap. It'd just be nice for Nomura to acknowledge that too though...Anyway, they hadn't needed to be there in years, they were more worried and preoccupied with the King's safety to even notice any details about the place to remember later when they were last there, and they were probably still recovering from the grogginess of waking up from those pods. Chances are, you're going to let a thing or two slip from your radar if you're not working at 100% and you weren't even making that much of a conscious effort to encode stuff anyway. Really I'm amazed that I can even remember where half the things are in my dorm room in the morning, it's only thru repeated habit that I actually get some degree of familiarity, if Donald and Goofy weren't making a habit of coming to the place in that 10-year gap, then they were less likely to know "this is the place" even after it changed locations (again, somehow Nomura thought the Tower changing locations answered that question, when it really didn't, it just means that if they had perfect memory, they should have just been shocked to find it there). But if somehow neither of those is your concern, then I really don't know what to tell ya, you really have to have a better idea of what you're concerned about and express that better so the rest of us can actually help you. Cause we're basically grasping at straws here.
  23. I miss when it was too new and revolutionary to know who it should and shouldn't block/censor/screw over. You know, when the internet felt more free. With this current administration, it's looking like YouTube will soon have more room to keep being super selective and dominating over what you can or can't watch, regardless of whatever is or isn't in it.
