They did held it back...the Final Mixes came out way too soon KHFM came out in December 2002 whereas the regular release came out in March 2002 in Japan for example...they gave it like 9 months on the market before releasing the Final Mix Version And the Extra Content isn't just some extra stuff...it links to the story...there is no friggin way that this wasn't planned cuz Nomura always plans out his Stories...so it was planned from the beginning to release an incomplete game and then make us buy(Well originally only in Japan) the same game for a 2nd time to have the Complete Version
