  1. There was a project on KHI more than a year ago that got some headway, but never really started. I doubt any other KH site really got into it, so it's cool that you guys are interested in it! The complete character list (I'm 99% sure this is right...) Interesting things to point out: - On the fourth and sixth page, the top paragraphs are nearly identical. This either could refer to repeated information or key information. - There is a line in quotes on the fifth page. - As pointed out in the KHI post, there should be the quote about the world descending into darkness. That's the stuff we're looking for on the last page. If we can figure that out, we have a chance at decoding the rest of the document, which may mean figurinng out the secrets of the foretellers or something...- The document could be in English. It could also be in roumaji. It could be in kana. It could be in a myriad of things. However, it is PROBABLY not kanji. - As already previously mentioned, there's a list on the sixth page. - Some characters have a "period" or "comma" underneath their character. This might be a rendaku-y thing. - In the original Famitsu scan, which is not available in-game, there are four "paragraphs" and the third line in each of the paragraphs is the exact same. - http://www.letterfrequency.org/#japanese-language-letter-frequency <- read/glance at it - Some of the characters look like distorted kana or Roman characters. - There's only periods, commas, and one usage of quotation marks in the text. Perhaps some of the "letters" are actually end punctuation??? For those of you who like numbers and statistics: Language frequency. More graphs maybe coming later...?
  2. Oh hype people are actually talking about this. In the 3 pages + famitsu scan, there are 37 different characters. There is a list on the sixth "page" that people on KHI were saying were numbers. If this is true, it probably is written in a language that has 27 different characters PLUS 10 number characters (0-9). However, one of the characters only appears once (on page five) so my thinking was that it is an apostrophe, and that the remaining 26 characters are A-Z. Also, if you take a look at the list, you'll see as it progresses the characters seem similar. So this numbering system has 0-1 look alike, 2-3 look alike, 4-5 look alike, etc. Also all of the "odd" numbers have one more line than their "even" counterparts. If more people are interested in this, feel free to drop me a PM or continue the convo. I might post more findings once I'm done working in ~2 hours.
  3. On-site: pretty often. On KHχ: all the time IRL: only when I'm with my KH friends (which is pretty rare now, sadly) Online: Whenever someone asks me about my username, when I'm talking with a few of my online friends who play KH, and sometimes it just comes up randomly
  4. Potions? Mega-Potions? Leveling up? (Your analogy did crack me up, congrats on your hard-earned like) @OP - I rarely use the "like" button (~5 per week? if that), so it really doesn't affect me all that much whether the cap is increased or not. If anything, the cap teaches likers to truly value their liked content, rather than spam the "like" button on anyone who replies to their posts (unless it's a well-written reply that truly benefits the liker's understanding of the topic).I do understand that there is a lot of content on this site, though, so I can see some users burning out their "like" quota after visiting two or three sub-forums, especially if new information about a certain game or work was released.
  5. Steiner. Clank clank clank clank clank. He and Sora can have nice long talks about their lives as sockless heroes. And scheme new ways to get more people to convert to the sockless lifestyle. And talk about protecting their princesses, because I guess that's only slightly important.
  6. The trend in Chi and Unchained is that they generally more follow the plotline of the story/film that they portray. So, for example, in Dwarf Woodlands, you actually defeat the old hag rather than some mirror thing in BbS. The only real "exception" to this is Olympus plotline (or maybe it's been too long since I saw Hercules... one or the other lol). Because some of the plotlines are not finished yet (Agrabah in particular) or have not started (Enchanted Dominion, others...) there might be some offshooting. So expect the stories to follow far more closely to the film or novel's plotline and not on SE plotline is what I have to say.
  7. It really depends on the cards you have. If you have more Power (the red sword) or Magic (the blue twinkle star thing), you should consider leveling up Treasure Trove or Three Wishes (respectively). If you like the Speed Cards (which is Lady Luck's focus) you can also consider leveling up Olympia. Or honestly, you could do it based on whichever design you like best since that's how I originally ordered leveling up my Keyblades, because honestly it comes down to what you like the best.
  8. Hello Chi players! I created an alt a few months back (because, y'know, one isn't enough) and I figured that this guide can aid new players in figuring out "what to do next" as well as helping veteran players if they would like to make an alt. I forgot how much fun this midgame section is in the game once you've figured out what you need to do to improve! The difficulty of the game ramps up considerably once you're introduced to boss-type characters in the storyline. The first one players needed to fight, the Witch Bomber in Dwarf Woodlands, is the closest thing to a gatekeeper to the midgame. Boss-type heartless may cause new players to have considerable difficulty continuing and advancing the plotline without wasting a bucketload of potions. The first advice that I would give is to level up. It seems very basic, but with each level up, you gain a HP boost and can increase your deck's limit, allowing you to put stronger and stronger cards in. However, your level isn't the only important part of this process of becoming stronger - many parts fit in to help you grow and develop your skills. Leveling up your keyblade will give a permanent boost to its stats, allowing the cards to do more damage. I would strongly reccommend that players start working on leveling up their keyblades as soon as they possibly can. It not only gives you versatility in your decks (ie you don't only need to use one type of card) but it also sllows you to experiment with each of the keyblades. I would reccommend at least one keyblade at least +30 and a sub-keyblade at +25 or more. With doing so much powering up, I also reccommend that players, rather than buying their mythril items every day from the mog shop, to do their mythril quests. It saves you a lot of mog coins that can be used toward buying YS, potions, ethers, or cards. The mythril quests allow you to not only get mythril items from quests (hence the name) but by beating quest enemies, you'll gain more experience than you would fighting the event heartless. More experience = more leveling up = better HP stat and a better deck = more wins Getting better cards is also an essential part in the process. Whether or not you choose to be a paying player is irrelevant. Participate in events. Beat what you can; don't waste 18 potions trying to take down a level 666 enemy. Every little step in the right direction counts. HP your cards when you can. Don't be afraid to spend your Raise Tickets or Kupo Nuts if there's a card you like; likewise, don't feel obligated to participate in a Draw if you don't want or need any of the cards. Eventually, you're going to want to have a full SR+ deck fully HPed. Ultimizing is also something you can start now if you have the resources, as it will save you time later down the road. One thing that is rarely touched upon is using your AP UPs. Each one raises your max AP by one (up to a base of 150). This adds up over time, even if it's only one or two AP. While it won't help you in taking down those large scary boss-type heartless, it'll help you get the experience to reach it. Guilt is another big help as you progress through the story, as it works on both Raid Bosses and on common enemies (which include boss-type heartless). Most likely, at this point, you will not be able to complete all of your guilt without a little help from some stronger members but probably can take down most of it, with a few difficult (but not impossible) heartless (probably the level 444 or 555 heartless). Aim to take down as much guilt as you can and make sure to help those around you - you never know if they just might reciprocate! Finally, you should be equipping your cards with skills, even if the skill's level is low and you can only equip one or two on a card. If a skill procs, that means more damage to the enemy and/or less damage to you. The cost of equiping and de-equiping these skills is quite high, which may be a turn-off to some, but the power/defense increase is noticeable and important. Every skill counts. The midgame is where you prepare your character for completing high-level missions and taking down fearsome RBs. With the power of knowledge, I wish you the best of luck on your Chi journey! If you guys out there in internetland have any of your own tips or reccommendations, be sure to comment so as to help others out!
  9. Make sure to read our guide and ask questions (or pm me, whichever's easier) if you need any help!
  10. While not directly tied to Unchained, here are all of the current cards (Chi's version of medals) in existance, in order by number. I won't be going through all of the cards we have and Unchained has and be comparing them, but I do notice, from a glance (using that nifty link you have in the OP): -BbS characters (you have Teen Herc but no Terra/Aqua/Ven?) -TWEWY folks -some of the FF characters (Seifer, Setzer, Rai, Fuu) -Ursula -Ice & Rock Titan -Ansem -The somebodies: Isa, Lea, Braig... -Xemnas -Xigbar -Xaldin -Luxord -Xion (in all of its glorious irony) -Shan Yu To be fair, however, the "Reverse" (ie bad guy) medals are a far more recent edition than the normal "Upright" medals. So be sure to get ready for all of the villian entries~ One thing that I'd like to see in Unchained as it progresses is Key Arts/Key Scenes. They're basically really nice looking cards that come from stuff like the opening and closing cutscenes, official artwork, the manga, etc. Here's some examples. Even as a non-paying player myself, they're always a nice treat for the eyes (and have amazing stats to boot...)
  11. Hello and sorry for the late reply. High Purity (HP) is the process in which you can limit cut (LC) a card with either the same card or a Yen Sid card. R and R+ cards can be LC 4 times (max level 75), SR cards can be LC 5 times (max level 85), and SR+ cards can be LC 6 times (max level 95). After the card reaches the highest level, it becomes HP and can then be ultimized. Yen Sid is not required for HPing if you have the same card(s) however it is the most convienent as it is the "wildcard" that works for every card. With Ultimization, the card's level cannot be increased, but the attack/defense or HP/Lux stats can be increased up to 70k/70k or 70k/700% respectively. If you have any additional questions about this feel free to pm me or reply here!
  12. I LOVE the +41 design of Rumbling Rose. It's probably my favorite keyblade, design-wise. My favorite/the one I use most is Rock Splendor (aka Treasure Trove). I'm working on powering up my Desire Lamp deck though, so I'll be using that more often. The main reason people stick to one keyblade is because it is costly to level up all of your keyblades to the same level. In Chi (can't say anything for UX), the keyblade doesn't really matter all that much, as long as you have cards of that type HP'ed/Ult'ed. Starlight is the most inconsistent keyblade, so I recommend to new users to use a different one, mainly Desire Lamp, Last Resort, or Treasure Trove.
  13. The only thing you can transfer is your character's appearence. You cannot transfer storyline or cards or items from one game to the other.
  14. You learn to take breaks. Prioritize the events that you want to do well in, and if an event happens that doesn't strike your fancy, don't participate. For me, events like the Invisibles/goats/hammers (where the level of the heartless goes up depending on how long it took you to defeat it) are awesome breaks. Conserve where you can.
  15. That's been Chi for about the last year and a half. We've had zero break since First Anniversary. A blessing and a curse.
  16. Just a friendly reminder to all of you competing heavily in this event - New Years Celebrations comes directly after and the loot you get from that (if we're going off previous years) is pretty awesome as well. Don't spread yourselves too thin.
  17. Most likely, when the Moogle Shop changes on the 17th of December, they'll bring back some of the old costumes for players to purchase.
  18. As of yesterday, Chi enters into a 3-week long Christmas event, rich with gifts for all players! The main screen is decked in Christmas regalia, as the players await the 25th of December. Every day, each player will get a log-in bonus consisting of 12 Potions, 12 Ethers, and 1 Christmas Ticket. Each of the event Heartless drop gifts (ornaments and tickets) for the player. Ornaments can be traded in for draw chances for really cool items! The 50 ornament draw: The 500 ornament draw: The 5000 ornament draw: Christmas tickets are important too, as you'll need to collect lots of them so when maintenance starts on the 24th, you'll get lots of goodies in your present box on the 25th! How many tickets you obtain determines what prizes you'll get. To get all of those cool prizes, you'll need to beat a lot of heartless. Using both event assist and attack cards will help you in your journey. The Kairi and Naminé Assist cards gotten via the Moogle in addition to the amazing payer-only cards will help you collect more ornaments ranging from 80% to 400% depending on which enemy you're taking down. Additionally, if you happen to have any of the cards from last year's event, they'll also increase your yield. But to get the ornaments, you'll need to take down plenty of heartless, and some of the heartless are difficult opponents! You'll want to use boosted cards to help take them down! Event cards featuring the lovely cast in Christmas Town attire can help, as they have a damage multiplier when attacking event heartless. Finally, there are two sneaky event heartless - the level 77 gift shadow and the level 777 (a new high) gift bag - that give off lots of ornaments and even some Christmas tickets! They're hard to find, and have a respawn time of 10 hours, so make sure you time their demise out so you can beat lots of them! How's your Christmas event going? Let us know while we share this marvelous time together in Chi!
  19. You need to sell High Purity (the rainbow background) SR cards. They can either be assist or attack cards; it doesn't matter.
  20. Warning/Pretext statement: I don't play UX and never have. So I could be wrong, so please discredit anything I say, and listen to the people who play UX. Let's first see if you indeed delete your data. Load up the game as normal and see if you get the "new account" prompts. If you don't get those, it's likely that your old account is still saved on the device. If it prompts you to make a new account, did you back up your game? If you did, load the game/create a new account and go to the main menu as normal. Then go to "データ引き継ぎ画面" then "データ引き継ぎ" (c/p from Kazr's post over on KHI). Follow the instructions and yea, you should have your account back if everything works out. If you happen to be in a party, if you have outside contact with your party members/leader, have your party members/leader check if you still are in the party or not. I'm not 100% sure if this works or not. If you didn't back up your game and it prompts you to make a new account... then I'd say to start anew. A fresh slate isn't a bad thing. Like I said, I'm no expert in this, so other people please respond to confirm/deny.
  21. I play Chi every day. Gotta get those log-in bonuses and fake internet rewards! For the other, console/handheld games, about once or twice a month.
  22. The missions follow a framework like this: SR+ Moogles, it will involve the defeat of 50 Raid Bosses AP UPs will have you beating 20 Jewelry Bags SR Medals have you defeating 20 Devil Riders Gold Tickets have you defeating 20 Tornado Steps Mog Medals have you defeating 30 Bandits Mog Points have you defeating 100 heartless. There is no specific enemy for this mission. Munny is rewarded via the opening of 20 treasure chests. Lastly, ethers are acquired by picking up 20 items. Please look at the picture above to know how many of the items you will be getting with the successful completion of these missions. Edit: replaced the Xs with numbers.
