  1. klsdfs oh my gosh will you be my new best friend?? I totally don't buy into Terra as a Darkness, either; I think there's a ton of canon evidence that he isn't, and I agree that since everyone seems to think it's the case, it most likely isn't just for that reason, ha.
  2. *high fives* I also think/hope Terra; besides his vow at the end of his story, it's said in BBS that Ven needs both of his friends to wake up. And having Terra first would just be against what everyone expects, which Nomura loves to do. And I really want to work with him to save Aqua!
  3. I do agree that the engine caused a delay, but I don't think KH3 would have debuted this year without it. Even if they didn't switch to Unreal, they would have had to develop a new battle system all the same. But it's sounding like a pretty massive game regardless of the engine; my guess has been a late 2018 release, so maybe using the old engine might have bumped it up to 2017? Hard to say.
  4. Noel spends a lot of the game lying about his past and hiding it, which ends up being tied into the history behind the plot. But basically, his relationships with everyone (Serah, Snow, Caius, Yeul) are complicated and based on his past, which puts a pretty dark shadow on just about everything and ends up being the driving force behind most of his choices. A big part of his personal plot is having to confront his guilt and grief, which is pretty much a constant problem for him, but it doesn't feel cliche at all, I don't think. He's complicated, in short, like a lot of FF characters, but that's why he's one of my favorites.
  5. Sora has the king symbolism to parallel Xehanort's king symbolism. Xehanort's Keyblade armor (seen in both Xemnas and the No Heart boss) is very medieval-styled and has the crown motif and kingly features in general. His Keyblade has a lion's head (not a goat, like a lot of people assume), and his ultimate goal is to essentially rule over everything and acquire Kingdom Hearts. Xemnas' final forms -- the castle and dragon -- are also medieval. Plus, Birth by Sleep, Xehanort's origin story, is very heavy in the medieval themes as well (the Wayfinder trio were originally referred to as "knights," etc.) AND, as Apprentice-Xehanort, he betrays Ansem and takes his place -- essentially usurping the throne and making himself king of that world. Since KH3 is all about the final showdown between Sora and Xehanort, there's been a lot of parallels between them, and the king symbolism is one of them. The E3 trailer made this the most obvious, I think, when Sora and Xehanort were represented by the King pieces on the chessboard. ...That was a little long-winded, but yeah.
  6. Hmm, well, without getting too spoiler-y, he comes from a post-apocalyptic future in which all of humanity has died off except for him. He's tasked with being Serah's Guardian, essentially, and travels through time with her to try and prevent his future from happening. ...I can go deeper than that, but he's a pretty multi-layered character with a lot of plot twists. |D
  7. Probably shouldn't listen to the BBS soundtrack while working. One day I might have trouble explaining to a coworker why I'm sitting at my desk crying.
  8. Yes. But I can tell you right now that if it bore any resemblance to Ven's, I'd immediately break down in tears.
  9. YASSSS I would buy it and all the DLC Even if they were dumb and did literal clone characters as DLC like Curtain Call did, hello two Aurons, why was that even a thing TAKE MY MONEY, SQUARE ENIX

amen! and thanks for the reminder. 8)
  11. yooo, long time no see! I've been lurking, mostly.
  12. Agreeing with the OP, guesswork never does any good, especially for a game 10+ years in waiting. I've been assuming late 2018 for a while now; if it drops before then, great! my expectations are exceeded. if not, I'll have figured as much and won't be too disappointed.
  13. Not sure. Been burned way too many times by move adaptations, especially video game movies (I don't even like to think about the Resident Evil ones). It'd depend on Nomura's involvement and how decent the trailers looked. :|a
  14. I voted yes, but it depends on how close it would be to KH3's release and how big the demo was supposed to be. If it was a lengthy one, I'd say no; I made that mistake with Resident Evil 6 and had a few things spoiled for me. :c
  15. Haha, someone else pointed that out. |D I suggested that they're having a silent competition to see who can break the others' fingers first. And thanks!
  16. Haha, they do look Sackboy-ish, don't they? And thank you! I probably should've mentioned it on my top post, herp, but I am taking orders for them in my Etsy if anyone's interested. 8] BINGO. Nuketown tho Ehehe, I am unabashedly biased, I admit!
  17. Thank you both! Terra and Ven were the hardest ones by far, but it was a labor of love.
  18. ...and might have gone a little overboard. THREE GUESSES AS TO WHAT MY FAVORITE GAME IS. (More pics here, to avoid spamming slow computers with hy00j pictures) I plan on doing Eraqus and Xehanort eventually too. c: EDIT: Thanks for all the compliments! As mentioned, I do have them up for adoption order adoption here at my shop if anyone's interested!
  19. ....oh, man, no joke. The closer we get to release, the worse the fans are going to get. Hoo boy.
  20. /high fives! The Wayfinder trio reunion is what I'm looking forward to the most in KH3, tbh. I know it will destroy me emotionally but I need it. Again, I agree that he doesn't want or need Ven's heart, and there's no indication that he's trying to stop the 7 lights from forming. But again, if he gets Sora, he gets Ven, period. This is fact by way of simple deduction. Xehanort says, and I quote, "But Sora and another on your list belong to me now." He doesn't mention vessels; he simply says these two "belong" to him now that he has Sora. (Or, you know, was going to have Sora. Thank goodness that failed, lol.) I also agree that he does have 12 of the 13 Darknesses already, as he clearly states (and as we clearly see) -- but again, he doesn't indicate that the second of the "two" that "belong" to him now is among them. If he did have Terra, it would have been much more accurate for him to say "Sora and two others on your list belong to me now." Yes, Ven's heart is useless to him. Yes, Ven's body would be ideal. But it nonetheless stands that if Xehanort gets Sora, he gets Ven. That's two, and he only refers to having two. Xehanort does mention Terra, but he mentions Terra in the same context as when he mentions Ven and Aqua ("The broken boy who failed to be the blade... the misguided master who sacrificed herself for a friend...and the feckless youth who became my new vessel.") so that doesn't really point to anything imo.
  21. He doesn't need Ven's body to get Ven, though. As long as he has his heart -- which is in Sora -- Ven's body is useless, and thus Xehanort would then have two of the lights. I agree he doesn't want or need Ven's heart -- but by getting Sora, he would be getting two for one all the same, and would thus have two of the Lights.
