For me, mickey is acting as the Nomura in the game. If he saved her, there won't be aqua's part of story in 2.8, and it hinders nomura from making the story more complicating EDIT: don't forget about the ending of bbs though.. if mickey wasn't there, the battle would end really quick.. also in Kingdom Hearts 2 if Mickey didn't hide the truth about Riku, Sora would find riku, FASTER. So basically, Mickey is the one who is causing the game to be really.. complicated
