Heyup lads n' lasses are's it goin? So in September last year, a game designer who worked on KH 2.8 and 3 listed on his LinkedIn page that multiplayer will be implemented in KH3. Given that this is a strong possibility (I believe everything he listed to be true, Pixar, gummi ships etc.) how do you think multiplayer will be added into KH3? Will it be just teaming up in the God's coliseum in Mount Olympus or something greater? It would be great if they pushed the boat out and went for something more, like shared co-op if possible. But that seems too far-fetched. So what do you think multiplayer could be in KH3 and what's your dream/ideal way of it being implemented? Let me know, cheers!

I'd love to see a Mission mode-esque mode for KH3, though more open and with a greater variety in objectives. I would also love for it have multiple playable characters, though I'd be interesting seeing multiple Soras.

I would want Co-op and Vs. maaaaaybe in a Dissidia style. *Fingers crossed*

Pretty much solid co-op and versus modes for me. It'd be nice to have multiple playable characters for the main campaign that you can also use for multiplayer purposes, but it would also be cool to have a customizable character option, ala Unchained X...only much better. A mission mode similar to Unchained would also be nice, as long as there is plenty of content to keep the mode engaging and fun. It'd be a really fun and creative way to actually tie into Unchained X as well, giving you a way to bring your Player into KH3, just in case our players do have a significant role in Unchained season 1 and season 2. If they end up doing that, it'd also be nice if they did something like that for Back Cover, where there is an option to do that for your character so they can show up like your Unchained counterpart, only fully realized within the engine. I realize it's kind of a pointless idea since it's just pre-rendered cutscenes with no gameplay, but if they allowed for those kind of assets to be swapped out on a base character that's meant to be us in BC, it would be a nice way of giving a nod to the players that they're part of the story. But I can understand if they didn't do that, it'd probably be a really complicated process, but then again it would make up for the smaller amount of content in 2.8.

If they did a multiplayer, I could see different guardians of light being used as the story progresses. I would imagine Sora will come across Ven, Terra, and Aqua and with them returning, we could use multiplayer. In fact, I could see the seven lights being playable at one point.

In my honest opinion, I think that Kingdom Hearts III should be a single player only affair, but, given that the series has tread on multiplayer ground before, it's technically not impossible for Kingdom Hearts III to have multiplayer, ya know?

 

And well, if there was indeed multiplayer, I imagine it'd be something in the vein of the Mirage Arena, or something that doesn't connect with the story, ya know? Other than that, I really don't know how multiplayer could be implemented into Kingdom Hearts III, ya know? 

It's probably an unpopular opinion, but I always felt that in the final battle, you should get to actually fight WITH the character that's doing the fight. I feel like Sora defeating all the Seekers, even with help of others involved in the battle, would make me feel like it wasn't even necessary to spend the entire game trying to find everyone who is lost if Sora could have just done all of it. And I also don't want emotionally important fights like Isa x Lea to be cutscene-only. But since having to make so many playable characters for just ONE fight each would be too much, a multiplayer mode where you could do a mirage arena-style co-op might make multiple playable characters an actual bonus content. Especially since, presumably, every character would have a different fighting style and stats.

 

Wouldn't want it as part of story mode of course, just as bonus content in a separate place (though, of course, there should be bonuses for doing it, like Mission Mode giving you crowns to unlock stuff to put on panels and Mirage Arena giving you coins to buy exclusive items plus some bonus HP or whatever for defeating bosses)

It doesn't need multiplayer, they already said the story was overwhelmingly big so there's plenty of content. KH1 and KH2FM have loads of replay value and they don't have multiplayer.

 

If there was online it shouldn't come out with the full game, but as free DLC. I'd prefer if they just add in an online 6-8 months after the game is already out. It's way too much to ask for with the released version.

 

People want 15-20 big, open worlds, balanced gameplay, sidequests, NPCS and side bosses and now an online PVP mode with all sorts of character customisation and modes.... And you want the game to be out by late 2017? I don't think that is going to happen. Not if you want a quality game at least.
