Union X holds a special importance for being the game that precedes all other entries in the Kingdom Hearts Universe, and as such, significant bits of story that are presented will obviously have importance in the overall narrative of the series, such as Nomura mentioned with the new Foretellers and whatnot, ya know? So I'm excited to see how this all connects in the long run! :D

But the problem is WHY NOT in the games, people can complain about the story be spread agrose the franchise as much as they want untill SE made a smart descision for once to release it all on the same systems. But most people aren't even aware of the MMO or have only heard by the people that visit the forums and watch some KH videos but half of the fandom doesn't even keep up with interviews, MMO's to begin with.

They can make connections all they want but it's SE fault if they expect people to play an mobile/PC MMO which isn't even finished yet to understand KH3 scenes, I hope Sora asks questions and Goofy gives answer- (I just realised again how smart Goofy is xD).

I gotta be honest I find this frustrating as well. My number one problem with this series is the multiple games on different consoles that have major story elements to them. Of course they fixed that with the collections but now they have a phone game that is supposedly important? Like I actually do like the side games and I'm OK with them somewhat adding to the story but I don't think they should be games you need to play to understand the "main entry" games.

Though I do remember hearing that they are trying to make KH3 easy for newcomers to understand so hopefully that means they find a way to easily incorporate all the information you need. We shall see.

Always remember this. Aside from Nomura loving to create more games in this awesome franchise, remember that it generates good money for Square, and with that being the case, it's why there's so many entries. The more there are, the more money to be made, am I right? Union X provides a mobile KH experience while also making money because of the people that happen to spend on it, ya know?

And remember, Nomura always likes to add importance to each entry of the series, so yeah. But if you don't wanna play Union X, you can just keep up with Everglow's playthrough of the game, ya know?

Square enix did not screw up all of that was intentional. I bet in the next saga they are going to write letters with important plot details which they will drop in the middle of the ocean

I was under the impression that Back Cover should contain all the information that we need from Union X. But I don't know for sure; I could very well be mistaken.

It doesn't. In fact it only answers like 2 or 3 things. Like who are the Foretellers? What is the Book of Prophecies? It cave clear ideas about other things, like how the Keyblade War came to be and what the Keyblade, No Name, is.  However it just ends on poor story direction and leaves you with way more questions than the average KH game.
