I'm pretty sure it will be a Kanto Remake .

Are we truely getting that Game Freak Console Pokémon RPG game they promised decades ago?

It does kind of seem like they'll be sending us back to Kanto. That region seems to get more attention than anything else in the video.

I honestly hope that it is a new generation, because as awesome as the Kanto region is, the games set in Kanto have already been remade once, I don't see the point in remaking it twice. I've always seen that Game Freak follows one remake per generation, as they've done so for the Kanto, Johto and Hoenn games. If anything, I think the next remake on the list would have to be Sinnoh, ya know?

 

But honestly, I want this new Pokemon game to be a fully new experience, a new region with new Pokemon and a new story, with all the marvelous trappings of having a full fledged Pokemon RPG on the Switch! The dream console Pokemon game we've all waited for!

Please no Kanto.

Pretty sure it's Gen 8 and if not, I'm not buying a Gen 1 remake for my first Switch Pokemon.

You guys didn't have enough of Kanto through gen 1, Gen 2,FireRed and LeafGreen(which IS a Kanto remake) in Gen 3 and HG/SS in Gen 4?

 

 

And what do you mean exactly by "true" RPG.....cuz the series IS A FREAKIN JRPG SERIES.If you mean something like Kingdom Hearts,try to make it work with over 800+ creatures to program with their own unique moves

I think when people say they want a "true" RPG, they mean they want a game that includes all the regions and all the pokemon. They want this enormous adventure through nostalgia-land. Whenever I hear people talking about a potential pokemon "RPG", usually the first thing out of their mouths is that they want all the regions included in one colossal game. But it's true; pokemon is a JRPG series, so technically every generation is an RPG.

 

I do agree that Genwunners can be frustrating as hell. People who refuse to play anything past generation 1 and then constantly say that everything after that is pure garbage, even though they haven't even given it a chance, drive me nuts! If you don't want to play the later generations, fine, but don't dump on them if you haven't experienced them yourself.

I think the franchise is due a major gameplay update. As far as combat goes, I don't think it's something that can necessarily be pushed toward something else, but the turn based gameplay does need a slight upgrade.

Genwunners are the worst cuz those are the same people who accuse the series of being the same yet they ask for the same thing from 22 years ago

The gameplay will be updated but they won't ditch the old system but rather refine it and add to it the same way gen 3 added abilities,Gen 4 added the physical/special split,gen 5 introduced hidden abilities and gen 6 introduced mega evolutions

Too early? We don't even know if this game is coming this year. Honestly it shouldn't. They should take their time on it, as recent games have been rather lackluster. Also I was aware that they confirmed it was Gen 8 they were working on.

Especially for turn based RPG and a franchise WITH OVER 800 MONSTERS TO PROGRAM and no I'm not gonna take 151 originals again just to have the series be a Breath of the Wild clone rather than being it's own thing

How do you want the series to progress if you want them to keep visiting the same firetrucking region from 22 years ago over and over and over and over again.

Kanto is a a very linear and small region to begin with and there are only so many ways you can explore Mt.Moon for the 300th time in a row

 

Not to mention,the next in line for remakes are the sinnoh games:Diamond,Pearl and Platinum so it's not fair to pander to Genwunners alone and leave Gen 4 fans in the dust
