Kingdom Hearts II AND BIRTH BY SLEEP

Posted

If you payed attention in Kingdom Hearts II, Donald Goofy have never seen Master Yen Sid's tower nor met Yen Sid.

When in Birth by Sleep they currently reside there.

Also around this time, Goofy says that King Mickey trapped Pete.

In Birth by Sleep Donald and Goofy were at Yen Sid's Tower plus it was Queen Mickey who sealed him away, King Mickey was busy elsewhere.

So seems like Square Enix stuffed up big time.

Yes, its the same. Lol?

They do an exact translation for the English version.

For both versions they say the same.

Wow...

Thats stupid.

There gonna cover it up being somthing with there memories, i can tell.

Is you play the english version, Goofy says that his "Majesty" banished him to another dimension. He was talking about Minnie, since the King wasn't there at the time. Also Donald and Goofy forgot about the tower, they were only there once, so it's not like they had the place memorized. That's why when Donald says, "Master yen sid lives here!" He kinda remebered and forgot at the same time.

In the subtitles, I think it was "Master Yen Sid lives here!" and donald said "Master Yen Sid lives here?"

I don't have the scene in front of me so I can't be sure, but I've noticed some stuff like that. The actors misread some punctuation.

At least he got the other dimension part right. It almost seems that was the entire reason for calling it the strange dimension instead of the sea of outer space.

Reasons for why Donald and Goofy said it was Mickey could be:

A: They wasn't there when Minnie banished Pete, so when they heard about it later they might have assumed it was Mickey who did it.

or B: They might have heard it was Minnie who did it, but when they told Sora they might have forgot who actually did it and said Mickey did it.

The reason for why they don't remember Yen Sid's tower part could be that when they was there in BBS, that might have been the only time they ever was there. So when they came there with Sora they might have forgotten that Yen Sid lived there.

Also, I don't remember it ever being said that Donald and Goofy hadn't met Yen Sid before.

I always wondered about that.

Another thing: In Proof of Existence in The World That Never Was (in KH II), Roxas' plaque shows Oathkeeper and Oblivion (Keep in mind this was constructed by the Organization). However, in Days, Roxas only dual wields on day 358, and the only person to see him do it is Riku. The Organization never knew about the dual wielding. (<- Also, this is supported by Axel's surprise on day 6 in KH II when Roxas whips out two Keyblades.)

It was cleared up in the Ultimania. He redecorated, remodelled, essentially rebuilt the entire castle from the ground up with his magic. The castle looks different in BBS and KH2.

Japanese pronouns are gender neutral. The word they used to refer to the King could easily be referring to the Queen as well. It's another mistranslation.

Not really.

It must shock you that they didn't :

It seems to imply that those plaques are connected to the members themselves. When they fade away, their stone becomes damaged and turns red, and so on. It's not that far out that Roxas' stone updated itself when he gained two Keyblades.

probably right after all they did go into castle oblivion

Well, it is is obvious that Xion's telepathic interference with Sora's brain may have affected Donald and Dippy Dawg's (Goofy's) as well, causing their minds to get scrambled.

I seem to always have to bring this up.

Sora forgot about turning into a heartless after one year.

How can any KH character expect to remember something for 10 years?

Also, you guys are assuming that when a character says something, it is 100% factual. Sure, Goofy and whoever says "King Mickey trapped Pete", but Goofy wasn't there to see it. There's no reason to think that Goofy's word is the undeniable fact about what happened.

These should clear everything up.

Japanese pronouns are general neutral. The word they used to refer to the King could also mean the Queen. Basically, it's another mistranslation. As for Mysterious Tower, Yen Sid essentially rebuilt the entire thing from the bottom up with his magic. It looks different in KH2 than it did in BBS.

Edit: Whoops, already posted this on the previous page. Oh well, it's not like anyone bothered to read it anyways xD
