When something is a retcon in the series, it actively goes against knowledge already pre conceived that the player knew was true at the time, and a retcon ignores that past knowledge in order to sound like the truth. A plot twist is a unexpected outcome that occurs from the players lack of knowledge on that area of information, but one that doesn't go against pre established concepts.

Right so, it's a retcon to the amnesia but not to Terra

Well, Days kinda showed an indepth challenge to the notion of Nobodies really having no hearts

And still arguably detrimental to Xemnas' potential as a character

Plotwists can still overwrite pre-established facts

The simpler version is a plot twist doesn't betray things we already knew, while a rest con does.

Xemnas is honestly Terra it works the same as ven and Sora with Roxas as nobody it looks like Terra or maybe cause it is

Roxas is the biggest case for nobodies actually having a heart, same for Lea/Axel, etc...

Like I said tho, Days definitely implied the whole nobodies have hearts so did KH2. And in any case that isn't what we're discussing

Well betray is to actively work against something, in this case the players understanding of a subject already explained.
