Just make them blank replicas with a fragment of xehanorts heart, make them do stuff. Then you have villains and less needless monologues with an added level of mystery.

I think this wouldve resolved alot of gripes with the obligatory desire to have every character who doesnt already have an established origin tie into UX

Like I think its annoying that they make the idea that Xehanort was putting his heart into people in KH DDD like it was actual possession and then in KH3 they make it like it means bascially nothing

See, I doubt that would actually solve your problem. Right now you are going with the mindset that you didn't like Marluxia there and would rather prefer blank character to take that role. But let's be real here, would you really like that if you played KH3 for the first time where that was the thing? Because I highly doubt anyone here would actually like that idea.

marluxia was activley going against the organization in KH: COM

Which is completely fair, but replacing him with a blank replika does not sound like a good idea either

I didnt say I wanted blank characters, I said I wanted them to be possessed

Heres how you do that, you show the characters have free will when Xehanort gives it to them, but takes it away when they start to show resistance

He orders them to serve him out of their own free will but knows that they cant refuse

that would add more weight to the idea these people are not just doing this "because" but actually give significance to being "norted"

i think it's prettt clear the new organization was heading in the complete different direction in 3D with xemnas speech and other lil things

I mean if Sora wouldve just got yellow eyes in KHDDD then what was the threat of him being norted, hed still be sora and likely still qualify for the guardians of light

I agree @Icecl Keyheart it felt like it wasnt the same as the old organization, that it would be made up of people under xehanorts control, not just people who had yellow eyes and nothing else
