It's not entirely useless but you get a lot less of it

And by definition cure is magic so

Aero still wrecks the Scala Xehanort Clones.

Cure is still useful. If you use magic right up until the last bar you should be able to get great magic. The thing is there ar just way better options available than Magic because the mp bar is so nerfed.
