You have KH1 Sora being split with his friends, switched over to 358 people and their story, Roxas fighting Axel, back to Sora but KH2 attire fighting Ansem, Xemans and Marly and then there's some KH3 stuff but you still have Sora, Kairi and Riku in their old attires

kh2 just feels more memorable

in terms of opening

The music just syncs with the visuals

FMF seemed like a super last minute addition

Over all it was a good decision tho tbh.
