Playing on nightmare does make you really know how awfully or well the game is designed though

On lower modes you can tank through shit you wouldn't think twice about

First first playthrough that's what I usually do I do all the harder difficulty stuff later

I usually do the harder difficulties first because many times it's the developer's true vision of what the game is supposed to be like
