you realize this is a tech demo not an actual game? they didnt care enough to do the face. the point of the tech was to show off the background and areas, lighting effect the sun etc not the person @ScaryWalrus lol

it's a cross between alita battle angel and mass effect andromeda
If it was JUST for lighting of areas and background, they could've just used a stick figure
But they wanted a sense of immersion for this

Which I had

until I saw that close up of the face

If it was purely for everything BUT the character, the character could have been literally nothing.
Make it first person. Make it a stick figure
But they tried to make something to keep that sense of immersion
And that face pulled me right out of that immersion

Don't get me wrong
the backgrounds, lighting
Amazing, revolutionary, whatever you wanna call it

But I literally do not care about bringing up that argument
I'm saying this is an ugly af face

They needed an actual character to show the improved animations, but you seem to have forgot about that.

I'm not looking at this from the perspective critical to what is needed or not needed in order to best showcase what they are trying to showcase

and that face is a dumpster fire

I am still not seeing what's so ugly about. I don't find it pretty either but definitely not as bad as you are making it sound like. But either way it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things cause her face had nothing do with it as they most likely just made a simple model to show stuff of with.

They were showing the technical aspect of the game. For what its worth, it was pretty impressive and showed the power of the ps5

Also many developers go through cycles of changing the characters face. It could change between here and now
