It has some really iconic lines/scenes that are pretty funny. But it may be a time thing too where it's just not as funny if you watch it for the first time now. I watched it when I was younger so I think it's really funny.

things that are considered cult classics will always be good/appealing to those in the "cult" but don't always stand up to the test of time for others. it's the sort of thing where you show something to a friend and expect them to love it just like you did, but then they either don't like it or don't like it as much as you do
