You have to equip the Zero EXP ability. You get it before reaching Lv 2, so don't worry, you're good. Bear in mind, it costs 1 AP to equip, unlike other games.

So will my exp go to 0 after I equip the ability? For this run, I just want to have the number at zero lol.

That...won't happen. But you're guaranteed not to level past 1.

So is there anyway not to earn 4 exp or is there no way around it?

Nope. That part of the game is totally scripted.

Regarding play order, the way I've seen the games is that each "spin-off" is meant to supplement the "main" games. Want to know more about roxas? You play days. Want to know about Mickey's secret letter? Go play re:coded.

Although kh3 includes plot details from each game, it isn't a necessity to know everything that's going on

Yeah the one exception is that UX is very topical

And BBS if you care about TVA

I think for KH3, you can get away with just back cover and be fine enough but UX is gonna be vital to the next arc

Release order is certainly the way to go, I am just a bit tired about people who argue that absolutely eveey game is essential when in reality they're usually small nods and one-off references

The only game that I honestly believe you can argue isn't essential is Re:Coded. Without playing every other game, there will be at least one part of KH3 where you have absolutely no clue what's happening

I'm guilty of not liking CoM, so I never watched the story and think it can be discarded

However it is perfectly acceptable if you think it adds to the lore
