Remember when I did a song based on KH for the 20th anniversary? If I ever could get the time to, I'd shoot a CMV with the song

ok this got me thinking something….i wonder if MOM gave xehanort the black robe was a first step in making him a dark seeker to let him initiate a keyblade war so they could summon back the ancient keyblade masters that trapped the true darknesses, and also a way to strengthen sora plus him obtaining the X-blade

then MOM will somehow guide sora to defeat the lost masters, and ultimately destroy the true darknesses

aaaaand, maybe luxu will guide the other foretellers into quadratum, so that sora could destroy them more effectively; something like how in quadratum, the darknesses could not revive or something

They can’t revive anywhere. The whole point of trapping the Darknesses inside strong hearts is that they have no way of escaping, so when the hearts of their vessels perish so do they.

As for the rest, yeah MoM has basically been nudging everything the way he wants it to go since Xehanort was young.

I would think getting someone to destroy the foretellers, and by extension the Darkness within them, would be MoM’s end goal, but why he wouldn’t just do it himself before now perplexes me.

and thats why sora will be his another pawn

while MOM just, gaze the whole plot

but personally, i like young xehanort more than sora tbh. He’s more charismatic and interesting character as a whole, well except when he starts getting old, that xehanort is piece of sh*t.

Young Xehanort? He’s arrogant as hell

He cute, but he’s got an attitude

i mean young xehanort from scala era

yeah but his attitude after he became a keyblade master…he was kind of a douche

Even before that though. The Xehanort from DDD and KH3 wasn’t a master yet.

I think it was the events of Dark Road that really turned him into that.

Sora is, in and universe, in and out of canon, Xehanort's better in every way lol

but time travelling is so confusing as hell, like does xehanort know about sora after the events of BBS or does he already knew about everything since the scala era, untill the event of KH3 at the keyblade graveyard?? like there is no starting point, like everything is a cycle.

like if young xehanort already went through all the events during DDD untill KH3, that means his older version already forseen everything thats gonna happen, well only up to that moment where we defeated his younger version at the keyblade graveyard.

In KH, when you’re sent back to your time after time traveling you forget everything that happened. Young Xehanort spent time in the future, but he forgot all of it as soon as his heart was returned to its proper place in time.

Same reason things play out with Ansem SoD and Xemnas as they do. They went to the future and learned of their fates, but as soon as they were defeated in the Keyblade Graveyard they were sent back to whenever they came from during KH1 & KH2 with no memories of the future.

oh wait i didnt know that they will forget about it, like what about maleficient? she remembered everything.

The urge to say “beats me, KH magic” is strong, but I’m gonna try to think this out. Somebody with a greater understanding of KH time travel can correct me, but here’s my understanding:

Only one version of person can truly exist at a single point in time. Xehanort’s other selves could temporarily manifest themselves, but he needed the replicas to give them a medium to cling to. As a consequence, those people weren’t really all there. When it comes to Maleficent, she tried to return to the past after being defeated in KH1 to change her own past. However, she fell right into a trap created by MoM designed to stop people from changing the Book of Prophecies. She arrived in a data version of Enchanted Dominion where a version of her wasn’t present, so she was able to fully manifest. I assume this is why she was able to remember what happened. While there, she meets one of the 13 Darknesses who explains the rules of time travel to her and then sends her back to the present which is the scene near the beginning of KH2.

Well look at it this way

Could be KH4, could be KH7, but sooner or later it allllll gets explained lol

We’ve been given the explicit rules and multiple examples of people time traveling. It’s just a matter of piecing it all together.

Nomura always pulls through

On his own time in his own way but he pulls through 😅

yeah things just got a bit complicated when you tryna add new lore into a story bits by bits and end up creating paradoxes along the way

but almost anygame that got time travelling is always messed up anyway.

unless they use the theory from Marvel endgame, thats a safer way to avoid misunderstanding

Square has at least put in the effort to prevent paradoxes from occurring. Could be like other IPs where it’s just a lawless free for all that results in the entire universe getting firetrucked by the Butterfly Effect.

Eh. People complain about Endgame’s time travel all the time

Pun unintended

I think KH’s problem is that they introduced more than one way to time travel. An issue Marvel is also running into.

At least in KH's case, unless I'm wrong, they're moving away from the way it was introduced in 3D.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Missing Link involved some time travel shenanigans, so we’ll just have to see what they do there.

Oh absolutely.

Besides, we're playing another create-a-protag so, they're gotta be a way they influence the plot but die

What better way then, as TV Tropes calls it, "flinging a light into the future."

again lmao

We already know Missing Link Player is the cloaked figure who raises Xehanort.
