i think experimenting on living beings, enslaving their will and trying to kill everyone make him kinda evil

Sweet set right there. 👍

He wasn’t doing it out of malice though

Xehanort didn’t really want to hurt anyone; he just didn’t care whether anyone got hurt. This makes him morally gray.

sounds like a terrorist

"just wanted to destroy the building, not kill people inside sorry"

of course since death isn't really permanent in kh you can come up with excuse but what he did is bad no matter how you look at it

Well the way I see it, an evil person is someone who intends harm and goes out of his way to cause it

but what if you need * to harm people in *your way

are big pharma/cosmetic companies evil for testing on animals if it's just to make sure it won't hurt people ?

I mean if given the choice, I know what I’d choose

he's kinda like Thanos

try to fix things but a bit too extreme

In this case, I would say no. A cosmetics company is simply fulfilling its role of providing a practical good that people want. If testing on animals is the safest way they can accomplish this goal, then I’d argue they’re doing the right thing, given the circumstances.

I think "evil" is a strong word but I do feel that, we are at a point now where there should be more alternatives available

What if you replace animals with people ?

I think you may be mixing up villain and antagonist

I mean like, I feel we have the technology to be able to ascertain these things more accurately. I understand the pragmatism of animal testing, the biological, genetical reasons, but, again, I'm not saying I think it's evil, I feel like there has to exist alternatives is all

As long as the way they're doing it is ethical. Like, there are guidelines to follow for animal testing, and companies that skirt those guidelines aren't afforded the same sympathy as those who follow them

The ends does not justify the means.
What Xehanort does throughout the series, what actions he takes in order to try to recreate reality and bring back lost friends is in and of themselves evil. Even though he's a sympathetic villain just wanting to see the friends that he lost in the past (aka dark road), the extremes he takes are at the detriment or destruction of others.
Forcefully taking over Terra's body for the sake of leaving his old frail body behind in order to live longer.
Striking down his only living friend (Eraqus).
Kidnapping a 4 year old girl (Kairi) and doing experiments on her against her will.
Splitting his pupil's heart almost killing him (Ven).
Tries to possess a 15 year olds body just to have complete control of him (Sora).
Tells his subordinate (Vanitas) to "kill" Aqua.
The list goes on. Dude's evil.

I'd say more misguided than evil, but, that's with Dark Road context

Before that yeah dude is evil lmao

Actually to be fair he was always portrayed as being curious and a philosophical man but he was malicious and cynical about it

Let me ask is it evil to break a plate when trying to reach for the cup on the upper shelf?

i think my analogy was bad and this one isn't better

he wanted to reset to 50/50 light and darkness

but to do that he would erase everything

right ?

Then that makes a question of whether the price is worth paying

And if the decision should fall to just him

If not him then who?
