Yeah I do find it odd

I think Its the voice directors fault

I dunno. I’m the opposite here.

I find Haley’s voice direction in KH3 his most expressive he’s ever been in the series.

In KH2 the way he reads his lines sometimes sounds like a first take.

And sometimes he lacks emotion in some of his KH2 lines.

I can definitely feel that, sometimes.. That isn’t to say that some of the lines didn’t have the oopmh they needed, obviously

Eek if you're gonna talk 3 be careful of spoilers or move to KH3 chat haha

Yeah. Him going through puberty at the time was probably the reason some of his lines in 2 feels off.

Cause in KH1 he sounds great.

That’s likely it, actually.. Yeah

Cause in CoM, he certainly doesn’t have that effect.. you know?

Rather, Re:CoM

Yup yup

It also gets harder to do voices I imagine as you age, due to how the cartilage harden with age

Yeah.. that’s why so many older VAs are “same voice” performances

It’s just generally harder to do a broader range

So it’s so much easier to go with one’s natural voice by be expressive there

Oh yeah, 100% ?

But I imagine Mark Hamill keeps keeps himself healthy, as health can also play a factor

HJO also doesn't do that many VA stuff, he mostly does acting so his experience with it isn't as high as other ones with it

Take Sora's Japanese VA, voices Sora as a kid too but he has done other VA roles in the meanwhile so getting more experience along with it

Indeed.. we have to keep in mind the strengths of a VA versus a live actor

Some people are amazing at recapturing how they sounded even fifty+ years previously. If you listen to Peter Purves as Steven in his recent works and compare it to him as Steven in the 1960's, you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference in his performance. Others simply do not sound the same.

Christopher Lee is a pog tho

Well, older British actors often do radio dramas so they're used to voice acting

Eh? But haven’t most of the KH characters kept their voices?

Yeah, kinda confused with what you mean there

Nah, Brittany snow isn't Namine anymore

Hayden isn't really kairi anymore

Yeah but Aqua and Terra kept theirs

Technically so did xion

Ventus is Roxas so that doesn't count

Neither does Vanitas

Willa Holland rlly needs some work on being consistent tbh. When she's good she's great, when she isn't it's....

She still cute tho
