About the darkness in Ventus in remind I think that is actually vanitas the vanitas in 3 is time traveling so the originals vanias that went back into Ventus in Birth by Sleep should still be in ven no? I think vanitas is just existing in two states time travel from Birth by Sleep and currently inside ventus's heart

 

Didn't he defeat Vanitas therefore his heart wasn't complete so he was stuck in that sleeping stage
