Absolutely but that also only gets you so far
The last two big screen actors for Superman shows both versions and its kinda funny
Both Cavill and Corenswet knows Superman but Cavill was not able to get to shine in any way because the character was just written in a monotonous way
Corenswet on the other than was able to shine because the script allowed him to and he was also allowed to just give thoughts or fight some ideas
Like the trunks are because of Corenswet, or there's a whole 10 minute video of him and Gunn arguing about a scene
yeah sometimes you can only do so much. if the director is not open to those suggestions then you're screwed either way lol
it also gets a little tricky sometimes when these characters can also have decades of history with dozens of writers for them, and a director wants to combine specific aspects and stories together
