that really isn't a good argument because FF's main games have been turn based more than they've been action, so why should the main games have to change? why cant the action ones stay side games like they've always been before?

Financially, yes of course it makes sense and I agree there and even look forward to 16 for its action. but saying "oh boohoo its still there in side games" for a series that literally thrived for generations in turn based is like saying "oh boohoo Tales games are turn based now but you can still find action in bamco's other games". Its a stupid argument on its own lmfao

It's honestly especially rude to tell people they're being overly upset about this change when again, the main series HAS been turn based for decades. They have every right to be upset at a change like that lol. Not everyone wants action, even if it makes sense financially, and they should be allowed to be upset without someone saying "lol go play the side games". If it were some other title that changed it up after every game, then sure being upset makes less sense considering there was no established genre. but we're sitting at 25+ years of history here. it's not all black and white like so many people make it out to be. you are allowed to look forward to 16 for its action AND still be upset that the series is moving in this direction imo

While I genuinely understand for people who have played turn based games all their life to be upset, that's understandable we're only human, but also think it's genuinely WRONG that some push it to the point where it turns into unnecessary tribal war also.

All, im saying is turn based style isnt gone. people can still get their fix. Just like how yazuka used to be beat them up but became turn based while having judgement series be what yazuka series used to be. But, dragon quest and the other ips square has are still turn based and still sell. People shouldnt be worried bout there being no turn based games from square

The thing is if they decide to do a mainline FF that's turn based in the future, they know exactly what they are doing and know how to make it engaging, there really is no reason to stress it out over if they make it action here or turn based there for certain titles.

again, it's not worrying about turn based dying. it's just human emotion seeing something they've been attached to their whole lives changing. It's an entirely different topic and as I've said, simply pointing someone to another series is just inconsiderate for the reasons I've already stated

it's like if I said I didn't like how they changed Ms Marvel's powers in the show and someone just came in and said "oh you didn't like the show? go watch DC then". like how does that in any way help alleviate my feelings on a character I knew had their origins changed?

No I totally understand, that's how I feel towards certain series I used to like they change the characters, personalities, thematics etc. that don't match what made me love about it the whole run. But at the sametime I want to do my best not to shed too much negative light on fans for the newer changes either and in turn I expect that same in return from them

I'm not disagreeing with you there either. Toxicity from any angle is unwarranted. I'm literally just talking about the approach that TK is taking which is to me just the worst approach. as someone that thoroughly enjoys both genres, there are many other things you can discuss rather than dismissing one's feelings and pointing them elsewhere unrelated. and like i said, it's never just black and white

It’s almost as irritating as the “don’t like, don’t buy” argument. Two problems with that:

1. It doesn’t apply to games I’ve already purchased and played
2. I can like a game perfectly fine and still have valid concerns about it. This argument overlooks such nuance.

this goes for everything too, not just games. things are never just you like or don't like

most recently for me, multiverse of madness. i still enjoyed the movie but as soon as i voiced my opinions people were quick to dismiss them and pretend i said it murdered my family

i think it's moreso just the evolution of internet culture as a whole where any form of disagreement is an attack on your family honor rather than a civil discussion

I had that rough in the past decade, like I couldn't go through a straight convo and be opinionmatic with certain topics where it turns into a straight up witch hunt🤦 where everyone practically points the finger and say no your wrong or your crazy. There was practically no middle ground or agreements

I think this is because everyone is anonymous on the Internet and nothing is truly at stake

The scary part is they make it sound like it is, especially if it's just a certain topic.
