I got so done with AC when I heard that they killed off the main antagonist that transcends the entire timeline in a comic

This doesn't contain any spoilers so I think it would be fine to post

It really is

agreed

I'm semi ok with that- play a lot of Japanese games, and they usually have cluttered menus and UI but, it's definitely a little over stimulating despite the dark colors haha

it's lost some of its aesthetic and now it looks like a standard "modern video game" menu

Yeah I can see that

Like the other one still felt immersed in the world

This one feels like a "m e n u"

If that makes sense.

Also an interesting thing, you can disable skills

So if there is something you unlock and don't like you can just disable it

Are you talking about runes

I meant skills from skill tree

same

you know, maybe the aesthetic version of the menu was one of the things they had to do away with due to accessibility issues (thinking visual accessibility). they did make a point to advertise that they were doing more to make the game accessible, after all

doesn't explain the clutter, though

I don't mind the colors

It's just how the menu works I don't like

Yeah the clutter to me without context looks like they wanted to double down on the RPG element of it all.

Besides, content aside, God of War games were always pretty accessible, imo anyway

I'll have to feel it for myself

that statement gives me chills like when they changed up assassin's creed's formula

Yup yup.

And what did it add to AC? Nothing but more headaches lol

Granted Origins and Oddysey and Valhalla did well and all, but, I'm hoping GoW isn't going in that direction.

to be fair, the worst offender to AC now is the combat

At least GoW is very satisfying

Speaking of

SO MANY KILL ANIMATIONS

i'm still not done with odyssey 😭

They really upped it this time

(though part of that is because i haven't played it for almost 2 years now)

I still love the Greek Era games- that Square Square Triangle combo felt so good man

That was me with a few games, I pick them up and drop them for years for no reason lol that's what I did with Yakuza 0 and Judgment.

Course those had super engaging stories but that's neither here nor there lol

i mean, i feel bad because it was an active game, and then a different game came along that took priority, and it got added to the list of "games i plan to play" and never got removed from that list
