Monopoly is fun if you play it a certain way (I like to set a time limit with the highest net worth winning at the end), Life I can't defend. Life is almost entirely rng. Basically a glorified Chutes n Ladders.

Some of the classics hold up really well too. Go is a simple game with tons of depth.

Checkers and Chinese Checkers too. Easy to learn, lifetime to master. I would also include Chess but...Chess has an obscenely high skill floor to the point that it's almost unfun unless you're playing with someone with enough patience to go easy on you while you learn.

And even then, Chess takes ages to actually finish. A good game of checkers will take half an hour? Max?
