it's a weird situation. i mean, what else can they call it? "captain marvel and ms. marvel" sounds weird. limiting it to "captain marvel 2" undercuts the other 2. there's just... not a lot of good things to pick from imo

the three of them share the Marvel title in the comics, it makes a lot of sense imo lol

Carol was both captain marvel and ms marvel at some point, while the other two only used one of the names, so Captain Marvel 2 would have been fine but them changing it to the marvels was probably a better choice depending on how important the other two will be
