1 is the bare minimum I expect out of games, so 2 at least sets me on the way to being excited. Like, at least having a decent story and graphics shows me you’re being SOMEWHAT ambitious.

Cuz like here’s the deal. I can tolerate less than perfect design as long as the effort was put in to at least make the game function properly. For me, that’s a show of good faith. It tells me the devs weren’t trying to pull a fast one and actually were interested in delivering a quality product—at least at some point.

It’s like going to a restaurant: the least they can do is get your order correct
