honestly firetruck the hardware. Microsoft can make so much more money by being a service

if they release something similar to steamdeck they win

even sony is figuring this out currently because the playstation portal is successful

going handheld even allows cheaper exclusives

Nintendo won the console wars 7 years ago

they are gonna crush both of them if the switch 2 has backwards compatibility

No, it does not. Sony's current handheld and the rumored Microsoft ones are all purely cloud related, not like the Switch and Steam deck.

oh

Switch even shows price did not go down

yeah that changes things a lot

If anything it went up going by TOTK

Nintendo makes so much money with their current model it's crazy. they figured out in 2017 that maybe pushing graphics is a bad idea because games become more expensive

and it forces them to go multiplatform then

which is why they can sustain their exclusivity model

if the switch 2 has backwards compatibility it's joever for sony and microsoft

I feel like people make backwards compatibility a bigger thing than it is

If it really mattered that much then Xbox would be doing so much better than they are

just imagine if you are an entirely new customer and you look up what games you can play on playstation and xbox vs switch

I am not saying it is a good thing, it absolutely should continue to be a thing in the future

But it's not going to matter that much either way

Switch wasn't backwards compatible with Wii or Wii U and is doing phenomenal

most 3rd party games people can play on ps5/xbox can also be played on the switch already

Switch 2 might suck donkey ass but backwards compatible isn't going to save that

It's what the console itself does

it's gonna be interesting if they do something entirely new or if they will go the apple route

What do you mean Apple route?

by selling a product that is similar to its predecessor

just a buffed switch

with some qol changes

Hopefully it's better than the iphone upgrades, switch is like 7 years old

It doesn't matter

It's gonna sell

the oled already sold like crazy

nintendo firetrucking won

and I hate it

xD

They can literally call it switch 2 and all will flock to it

ngl the only thing that prevents me to go full switch main are the piss poor quality of joycons, online mode, the OS of the switch and the lack of achievement system. if they fix all of this with the switch 2 I am gonna join the nintendo camp

They can make just the slightest improvement, and people will still buy it

That's where nintendo is at now, and they will never port to PC cause of this

They would never port it either way
