I think the musical idea is a sound concept, but it should really be saved for an original IP. Far too much of a high concept to just stick in FF. Might work in KH because Disney.

Like I’ve often said about Nintendo, if you want to do something different, do something different. Don’t use an existing IP as a Guinea pig just because you perceive it to be less risky.

That kinda works for KH cause there's already an inherent strangeness and uniqueness to the IP so experimentation is usually handled quite well.

But not a mainline Final Fantasy lol they'd never consider that shit for Dragon Quest.

The biggest hurdle for a musical is it would be hell to localize. You’d have to record each song at least twice. Hell, the only reason Persona has an English soundtrack is because it was originally recorded in English.
