And that's AI: The Somnium Files completed and it's Platinum trophy obtained. I have to be honest here... this might have been the [b]BEST[i][/i] VN I've played in a [/b][/i]REALLY[/b][/i] long time. The story is honestly great from start to finish. It's another 'murder mystery' type game similar to the Ace Attorney and Danganronpa franchises. The characters in this game are also [/i]REALLY[/i] good and just well done overall. VN's, mostly anyway, only have small chunk of 'important' characters. [/b]ALL [/b]of the characters are important in one way or another. Some are obviously more important than others but this game did an [/b]AMAZING[/b] job making most characters important in one way or another. The Date and Aiba (mascot of game and franchise) dynamic is [/b]CHEF'S KISS FANTASTIC[/b]. The humor between these two (and really the humor in the game overall) is just [/b]AMAZING[/b]. It had me legit laughing quite a bit. Unlike most VN's it's actually a mostly 3D game are at least 3D-like. There are even full 3D environments that you explore. It's in the 'Somnium' segments only. But still. I hope newer Ace Attorney games (if they ever happen I guess) do something like this. Plus... you don't really have to 'read' mostly. It's practically done [/i]FOR[/i] you. Through voice acting. I really wish more VN's would do this. I really do. It makes it less 'boring and dull' in many ways. I don't have much negative to say either. Except for two things I guess. The 'twist' and 'revelation' of the game... felt like a cop out. I'm sorry it just did. For me at least. The story was really damn good until the 'truth/revelation'. It just ended up as mostly a disappointment for me. But everyone will clearly feel differently about this. The shooting mini-game segments could be problematic for some. Especially with their 'wobbly' nature to them plus a time limit on top of them. Other than that... I have nothing negative to say. AMAZING game that I honestly [/i][/i]STRONGLY[/b] recommend. But do whatever you want to obviously.
