@ocean's rage - Not seriously, but the track record since the pandemic is not looking good. They took on Ron DeSantis or whatever his name is and lost the fight they picked with him which is going to cost them big time in the foreseeable future. Their films are barely breaking even. The theme parks are not doing well. And Disney+ is still not turning a profit for them. To be fair in the case of that last one they knew it would be a while before it did turn a profit. The worst thing Disney's doing right now though is not listening to the feedback they get and continuing to do the exact opposite of what their consumers are asking for driving more and more of them out the door and far FAR away every day.

they just did and people hated it. the wining formula doesn't always work

The problem is before Little Mermaid showed up they were on the brink of collapse and thus were more willing to experiment about. The Renisance had a "formula" ish, but each movie felt unique.

Same thing with the Revival years; Princess and The Frog-Moana

From Wreck it Ralph 2 on tho, it's just felt stale in places. Encanto has been one of the only movies to feel new and cool
