the only thing that in my opinion would force a 2028+ release date is due to KHML being dropped

and they decided to add in extra content to make up for what we missed via the mobile. Possibly through some time of minigame collecting files throughout the game(?)

get X amount unlock story scenes which we would have experienced in ML to bridge the knowledge gap
