So, I remember seeing somewhere that people thought that, near the end of the game, when Mickey said to Data Sora "I was there when you began your adventure," (or something like that) he was referring to KH1. I think that this is false.

 

I think that he was referring to "being there" when Data Sora started his journey, not the real-world Sora. This, to me, makes more sense than him being present when real-world Sora started his journey.

You're probably right, but it would be a lot more interesting if he was referring to KH1

I recall this being broght up in an interview once, and once again quite vague. It was most likely stated in such a vague way so it could have that double meaning, such as weather it being sora and mickey or sora and riku who would close th dtd.

It means that Mickey could have opened the portal for Pluto which would mean that perhaps he was around.

He couldn't have really been lying. But I thGnk what keystrike said is correct.

I don't think it was Mickey who opened the corridor of darkness that day for Pluto. Remeber, Mickey didn't get his orginization coat till the end of Chain of Memories. And I think that Mickey was just trying to make things less stressful for data Sora so he tried to speed things up by telling what happend.

But Mickey can't manipulate the darkness...at least I don't think he can. He might do, but there hasn't been any evidence to show for it.

I think Mickey was probably be there. Leon and all had been told beforehand about Sora and about Donald and Goofy. Also Merlin was also spoken to. Since he was there at some point, and he's said he was there on the same day. I can't see why he would lie, so yeah, he was most probably there on the same day as Sora.

how could mickey have been there w/ data sora if he was talking to him from the outside world and mickey wasn't put into the data world until after wonderland

I'm almost positive Mickey was talking about kh1. Besides, Mickey said he was in Traverse Town when Sora started his adventure, and Data Sora first 'met' Mickey on the islands.

The reason Mickey said that to Data Sora is because thats the first world he visited in the datascapse.

Mybe he was talking about both?

Remember that this is a journal. Maybe he was refering to the real Sora starting his adventure, but he got to experience it through the datascape?

we will never know unless we get nomura to tell us.

I think this will be expanded upon in BBS volume II, it may have been hinting that Mickey was there in Traverse Town.

Yeah or it could be explained in KH3. But I think it might also expand in KH BBS vol. 2.

We know Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Sora where in Traverse Town at the same time because Mickey tells Data Sora "This is the day your journey began. I know, because I was there too."

So I think Mickey first went to Leon and said "Some o' my buddy's'll be comin' ta' town lookin' for someone with a key. Could ya' help 'em out pal?"

 

Next he visited Merlin and asked him to teach the new Keybalde Weider about magic.

 

When he left the Magical House a C.o.D. opened in front of him (as the stability of Traverse Town due to its nature as a "composite world" as well as it possibly existing in the "Realm Between" would likely sometimes cause them to randomly open) and, being that he needed a Keyblade from the Realm of Darkness, went through it not knowing that his allies where fighting a large Heartless just a few feet away. When the smoke cleared Pluto caught the scent of his beloved master and followed it into the Darkness.

But mickey was seeing everything of when Sora's journey began, too. So I guess it's a 2/2.
