well, don't you guys hate how parents become so...damn annoying sometimes?

wait let me rephrase that.

ALL the times.

I have an annoying younger sister and an annoying older brother and, if you noticed by my wording, they're annoying as hell.

especially my sister.

for instance today, I woke up (woo no school ) and got on the computer.

my mom wakes up and tells us to do chores (me dust some things, my sister mop the floor)

my sister gets mad and yells why I get the easy job and gets mad that she has to mop.

ok then my sister throws mop water at me then we start arguing and blah blah blah...

the story gets predictable after that.

anyway, my mom starts yelling at me and then my dad gets mad and I get grounded.

I have no cellphone.

I'm threatened of getting the computer and internet taken away.

and my sister?

yeah she's happily watching a movie with my parents.

so yeah...this might be my last goodbye if I surprisingly get my privileges on the computer taken away.

so just discuss how maybe you have similar problems like me.

I'm actually good friends with my sibling... but I tend to stay a good ways from my parents, so I don't get in trouble often. Not like I'm doing anything wrong. *shifty eyes*

My mum tells me how terrible I look when I go and dress up for parties.

 

And she gets all pissy at me for no reason

its stupid. She downgrades me so much.

And theyre so over protective it's annoying.

Can't do this can't do that without them knowing.

I get along really well with my older brother and almost all of the time I get along really well with my parents. We're like a big group of friends. The thing is, my mum is telling me a lot how I should start wearing make up more or focus more on my appearance - yesterday she was telling me if I wanted to make friends at college I had to mimic their clothing style because "people like it when you look like them". I didn't want to start an argument, so I just agreed, but I think people liking you for personality is better than how you dress. >_<

 

Aside from that they're okay and rarely mad at me; but the thing is they're really really overprotective... I find it hard to be independent on my own because my whole life they've always kept me from doing things, and they moved us away from a town when I was little to a village in the country, so I could never become streetwise.

Right now, I'm trying not to fail Geometry, Biology, and World Geography, all at the same time.

I finally raised my grades this week and actually got a more-than-passing grade on my test and...

She's always blaming me for things my BROTHER does. Like if he walked in front of a car and got hit, even if I wasn't anywhere NEAR him at the time, that automatically makes it my fault! I swear, I've acted more like a mother to him than she has! WTH!

Yeah, what I really hate is when my sister acts like a bitch and my parents don't do shit. She does the craziest things in the house, and when I just do something a little wrong BANG there goes the arguing. Its so crazy.

Like how my dad doesn't like me having my best friend living across the US from me...

Yet he has acquaintances in JAPAN, for god's sake.

Allow me to shed some light on this subject.

 

Most parents would do anything for their children. They wouldn't "meddle" in our lives if it wasn't for the fact that they have a love for us that would only be belittled by trying to put it into words.

 

When you walk in from school and they ask "How was your day?", most kids reply with "Fine." And you walk to your room asking yourself why they ALWAYS ask that. It's not because they think they have to, it's not because they want to be plugged in one every detail in your life. It's because they are letting you know that they love and care about you, and want you to know that they are there for you if you ever need them.

 

Another thing, we have all done it. We have lied to our parents, or hidden an event that we'd rather not share. Why do we do it? Well, there are a number of reasons...one is, whether you admit it or not, you think that if you tell them...they will be disappointed. Which is a worse feeling than being grounded for doing it. Why do they get upset? Because it hurts to see their child getting into trouble, after all the hard work they've done. And they begin to question if they are good parents.

 

Everyone knows this feeling, when your mom or dad listen in on your telephone conversations. No child likes that, but as a parent...it's their job to make sure that you're not talking about anything profane or talking to somebody you don't know, or prank calling...etc. They just want to make sure you're being good, because NOT ONE PARENT likes calling their kid on their mistakes. But it just has to be done sometimes.

 

And this is my last example. When parents get on you about housework or school work. It sucks, you feel rushed and your head starts spinning and you try to figure out what to do first. Why do they do this? Because, as a parent it's their job to make sure you are prepared for adult hood, every day of your life. And so, by being on you about getting stuff done...they are just trying to drill that "when somebody says do something, you do it IMMEDIATELY" so, don't get so pissed. Sit down, and make a list or something, or tell you're parents to help you even out your daily jobs.

 

 

Alot of you may wonder how I know this stuff. I'm not a parent, but I'm practically a guardian to my little brother. I love and care about him with everything in me, as if he was my own child. And ever since my dad died when I was young, I have to help feed, clothe, and bathe my little brother on a daily basis. So, I know the value of family...and it is very important.

 

So, the next time you're bitching to your friends about your parents...just remember everything I've said.
