Posted May 2, 201114 yr http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/05/01/osama-bin-laden-dead-killed_n_856091.html Do you guys think Al Queda is going to react?
May 2, 201114 yr I'm not sure I think it is too soon to tell. The US is probably prepared for retaliation though.
May 2, 201114 yr My guess is that they were caught completely off guard by this, so they will probably be out of it for a little while. Eventually, however, they will retaliate. That's a fact.
May 2, 201114 yr Osama just lost the game of hide and seek. And yes, there will be retaliation, there's like no doubt.
May 2, 201114 yr I'm pretty much shocked after all this time that Osama is finally dead and there probably will be a retaliation.
May 2, 201114 yr If Al Qaeda had any plans for terrorism, then they will likely still be carried out yes. However it may not necessarily target the USA, or even the UK, as far as revenge operations go, it may be that they target Asian countries and North Africa, places such as that, just to make sure that the world is still aware that they are still able to carry out attacks. Think about the Morocco bombing last week or so. Basically the security of most countries is going to be on high alert for the next few weeks I am sure, but it is still likely they will continue to commit acts of terror, in vengeance and otherwise. The death of Bin Laden is a turning point in the war of terror but not the end of it by a long shot. For now though hopefully the families and friends of those who lost their lives in various attacks that he orchestrated will feel like some sort of justice has been served.
May 2, 201114 yr I all but forgot about the guy until this morning. I saw it on the news and I was like "Meh. Not like anything happens here."
May 2, 201114 yr there are terrorists hiding in the U.S. and obviously elsewhere. as much as this is a time to celebrate, this is also a time to heighten security, be even more prepared & not let our guard down. his death is momentous because he was the mastermind of so much terrorism for the past 20 years. he was killed by a U.S. bomb & we have his body. however, they're gonna want to retaliate. hopefully nothing bad happens, but we gotta be prepared either way. these people are sick and relentless and will stop at nothing. also, he was killed in pakistan. that worries me seeing as pakistan is supposed to be our ally. why was he living in a mansion there? kinda scary. and he also had goons under him that he's given plans to. u never know who will be more crazy and more powerful than him. its the unknown thats so scary and also the unknown we gotta be prepared for.
May 2, 201114 yr Huazzah! That bastard is dead! May he and his douchebaggery rot in hell! There will be retaliation but I don't think anything on the scale of previous terrorist attacks (not even as big as 9/11) will be possible now. There are two scenarios that will happen from this. 1. Al-Queda and the Taliban mourn the loss of their leader and form together even stronger on a path for revenge. This leads to a massive global attack. 2. Due to the lack of central leadership, the group falls apart into small cells that do not have the supplies or logistics to be able to carry out attacks on the United States, small local attacks in the middle east are likely but not on the US. To be honest option 2 will probably happen. An organization that was only kept together through one leader has never been able to recover after the leader died. Take the Nazis for example. They were fighting to the death but once Hitler committed suicide all order was lost and all remaining forces either killed themselves or surrendered to the Russians. Plus the terrorist are already undermanned and underpowered. The death of Osama will be the final nail in the coffin. This will not be the end of things though. You cannot kill an idea. If the idea has been presented it will live forever. Take a look at the Nazi's again, people still think the Nazi's had it write even to this day. Whether the ideas of Osama re-emerge in 10 years or 1000 years we will always have to watch out.
May 2, 201114 yr Yeah, i got news about him dying just yesterday. Apparently this is the biggest news in history to the U.S. since Osama has been the one who carried out the 9/11 attack back in 2001. But I'm glad he's gone now, now all the people will think Justice has been served. And I also want to add that he was shot in the head, not bombed. Like the rest said, Al-Quaida will retaliate in some way, and from what i heard the U.S. will be on high alert for any terrorist attacks.
May 2, 201114 yr My dad ran into my room at 11, screaming. "HEY! RHIANNON! HE'S DEAD! WOOOOHOOO! I DON'T CARE IF YOU HAVE SCHOOL TOMORROW! COME WATCH TV FOR ENDLESS HOURS WITH ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT! 8D" He definately deserved what he got, though. He even tried to use another person as a shield. But yeah, Al Queda is going to retaliate, no doubt. Probably another type of 9/11 attack--they're going to be furious, and they're going to try to involve as many people as possible, sadly. At the very least, they're going to make a painful statement to the U.S.
May 3, 201114 yr I bet he wishes he never put his address in his PlayStation Network profile now. This comment is pure win! My dad ran into my room at 11, screaming. "HEY! RHIANNON! HE'S DEAD! An attack on the scale of 9/11 is impossible unless they received help from an actual nation. If they did get say, Iran to help them then we would definitely find out and, well, lets just say Iran would be radioactive for several thousand years.
May 3, 201114 yr Let's analyze a few things here: So, seems the U.S. army finally tracked the guy down. They busted into his mansion and prepared to take the guy down! Before he could escape once more, though, he was brutally shot twice in the head and landed... blood presumably gushing from the sides of his head. Afterward, the army took his body and left the building... possibly leaving onlookers confused as to what the heck just happened. After confirming that the guy WAS indeed bin Laden and not some cheap look-alike by comparing his DNA with that of his dead sister, they tossed bin Laden's body out to sea (not even bothering to take it to the U.S.A., show it to the President, put it in a museum, etc.), but by then, the news had broken out. Numerous responses: Osama bin Laden's dead! Osama bin Laden has been shot! Osama bin Laden has been killed. Today is a momentous day. The man responsible for the 9\/11 attacks has been murdered. U.S.A.! U.S. freakin' A.! We have come together as a nation, and we shall stand united against any enemy who threatens to destroy our national rights. It's... it's just... *cries* (shouting something in Arabic) We will kill you stupid Americans! We shall drink your blood as wine! ... Wait, what?! Bin Laden's dead?! YES! FFFF-YEAH! I lol'd. It's no doubt that Al-Qaeda's gonna have a bone to pick with us, so as soon as we're done celebrating, it'd be wise to go and dispose of whatever's left of that terrorist team before they get a new leader and rise again. Better to conquer when they've got no leader, right? And while we're at that, increase security around NYC. That'll most likely be their number 1 target.
May 3, 201114 yr .....Finally. You have to admit it though!! He was one hell of a hide and seek player. But I do think they might react, however I'm sure it won't be as large as something like 9/11. They could try, but I don't think it would really happen.
May 3, 201114 yr YES THIS MEANS THE WAR IS OVER!!!!!!!! THIS MEANS USA IS NOW HAPPY!! PPL FROM THE WAR ARE COMING HOME!!! F!#$% YA USA USA USA!!! WE ARE READY FOR ANYTHING!!! WE ARE USA USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COME ON ANY ONE WANT TO MESS WITH USA WE WILL KICK THERE A@@ USA USA USA USA USA!!!!!!!!! WE ARE AWSOME!
May 3, 201114 yr "I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that" — Martin Luther King Jr. Osama had already accomplished most of goals until his death. He should had been taken down over 20 years ago. This was simply nothing but revenge and a feeling of closure to the survivors & families to the victims. One terrorist dead does not mean world peace and the end of terrorism. There are still a lot of other terrorist and will be more of them out there. It doesn't really accomplished that much in the end. Those crowds in front of the White House and a few other places somewhat reminded me of the crowds in the Middle Eastern streets who celebrated after the fall of the twin towers. Are those people that are rejoicing after this death any better than they are? Just look at what some "loving Americans" did to this Muslim Community center. How very patriotic indeed![/sarcasm] Seriously, people need to calm down about this already. http://www.wcsh6.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=157889 YES THIS MEANS THE WAR IS OVER!!!!!!!! Like I mention earlier, one man dead does not instantly mean its over. When did they say that the troops were coming home after this? Oh sure, everyone in America is happy.....including all those people that lost their jobs over budget cuts and all the people who live in streets without cause they got screwed on. It also cost the US over trillions of dollars in debt for everything that goes on in the middle east. This country still still has its own share of problems that still needs to be fixed like a few other countries out there. Was that worth it for one man?
May 3, 201114 yr Who knows? Now that bin Laden has been taken out maybe the remains of Al Queda will scatter to the winds, now that the queen bee is gone. For now, let's be glad that justice for 9/11 has been served.
May 4, 201114 yr Oh they finall killed Bin laden? Yes! This is an epic win for the U.S. They finally killed that evil bastard. Now when I go to Ground Zero I can remember he's dead (by the way I may see the president when he visits New York). Bin Laden was a big threat to the U.S. and is indeed responsible for the attacks on the twin Towers. Of course theres going to be some retaliation. New York City Police and Homeland security has been very tight ever since 9/11. The PSN hackers attack was linked to Osama. Navy Seals couldn't play Socom at home so they went and killed him.
May 4, 201114 yr YES THIS MEANS THE WAR IS OVER!!!!!!!! Not necessairly. Just because that Osama is dead, doesn't mean that the war is over. Sure he was the leader of Al Queda, but doesn't mean that it's over. There probably is a second in command for Al Queda and there is probably a retaliation in the future from Al Queda.
