I haven't played this game in quite some time, but my interest in this amazing character dumbfounds me everyday.

 

I've been searching for clues since the first time I fought him, but all theories eventually fall apart. The clues we have aren't exactly enough. Obvious clues are the ethereal blades, but the existence of Xemnas in this game makes no sense. I've heard that the Mysterious Figure doesn't appear in the BBS storyline, practically leaving Organization XIII, and Xion, unless the scene from 358/2 Days counts in the Blank Points trailer, which would also exclude Roxas and Axel from the possible suspect list.

 

Time travel has also been a big issue for debate. Although so many neglect this possibility, MF uses time travel in the fight, proving it as a possibility. The true question is, how far back can MF traverse time? He only uses it when you attack him too much with the Keyblade, allowing him to regain some HP.

Well, I don't remember where I read it, but I read that Nomura stated MF is someone we do not know yet, meaning it can't be an existing character, but someone new.

The time travel does not matter. That's what Nomura said, what matters is the existence of MF. Maybe MF is Xehanort's master who also wants to test out Eraqus's pupils.

This theory is no more different then mine. And the Mysterious Figure is going to turn out to be a guy we all know. And then he'll become the not so Mysterious Figure when every one finds out who the hell he is. Just like how Xemnas and Terra were Mysterious figure untill out there identity.

i do not think it has anything to do with time travvel. my theory is that he is a knowledge or maybe even family of xemnas i mean theyve never said anything about he's family the only family that he's got is the organization. it is possible that the mysterious figure whants to find out more and that xemnas now has taken over the job.

lol I keep thinking MF stands for Michael Flatley but I know it's mysterious figure, I think it might be Xemnas's kid or a[prtner or something. Be rlly cool is Saix but it's not.

Xemnas(KHFM)=Xehanort's Nobody, Antagonist of next main game.

Lingering Sentiment/Enigmatic Soldier/Terra(KH2FM)= Xemnas's Counterpart(body).

Since Xehanort's Heartless has being PWNed we can only suspect that MF is Master Xehanort's soul. 8D

No, Ven's body is still in CO. The scene in zero point that shows Sora and Ven vanishing was just for show. They didn't actually vanish. Besides, Nomura has already stated MF is someone we haven't seen yet.

From what I have seen, Kingdom hearts regards the heart as one's soul, the innermost building block of who you are. Upon falling into darkness the persons being is split into 3 parts. The Heart (Heartless), The Body (Nobody), and the Mind (The Lingering Sentiment). As we have already seen all three parts of Master Xehanort:

The Heart = Heartless = Ansem

The Body = Nobody = Xemnas

The Mind = The Lingering Sentiment = No Heart

 

I doubt the Mysterious Figure has an attachment to Xehanort in any way other than aquaintance. My guess is that he was a sneak peak at the next arc. A foreshadowing for after the end of the Xehanort Saga (KH1,2,3)

The heart and the soul are two different things. And there are only two things that split off when the heart is swallowed by darkness. The heart, which becomes a Heartless, and if the person has a strong enough heart, the body and soul become a Nobody. The Mind doesn't exist as an entity that can create something. Also, the Lingering Sentiment was what was left behind when MX possessed Terra, his thoughts and feelings gave the armor life. Terra was still whole at the time and didn't become a Heartless and Nobody until later. And No Heart isn't a Lingering Sentiment, he's just the armor of MX, just like Armor of the Master is ME's armor. They aren't actually canon, just there as a challenge in the Mirage Arena and for people to see their armor.

All of the armors, Terra's Lingering Will, Vanitas' Lingering Spirit, No Heart, Armor of the Master. Are all an advanced form of an Unversed. The Physical Manifestation of ones thoughts and emotions, A.K.A. the mind. And as far as Kingdom Hearts has portrayed, the sould is what they refer to as the heart in this game. Becoming a Hearltess doesnt mean you are physically missing an organ.

I like this theory. I'm pretty sure in the fight with MF, he uses the darkness. This could explain why Xehanort is a Master, yet so far involved in Darkness. Now that being said, it doesn't mean that MF is bad, just that he uses Darkness.

in the future,he decides to test the power of three keyblade wielders(Terra,Aqua,Ventus) so he can learn

what he may be up against in the future and use that knowledge to try and defeat the heroes in the future.

But hey,thats just my theory

Nomura stated that the fight itself isn't canon, but the character is. So in the history of KH, MF exists, but he never fights Aqua, Ven, or Terra. That part was just to show him off and give players a challenge.

I have a theory.

 

In BBS secret video the old Xehanort tells Terra that he is just one of the many roads he would choose to take. So perhaps the Mysterious Figure is a fouth Xehanort. Each one has some special power, one could control nothingness, the other heartless.

 

Perhaps this Fourth Xehanort can control time. In the final mix secret video of Birth by sleep we see Sora sitting on his tree, then in an instant he disappears. We then encounter the same thing with ventus sitting in his chair in castle oblivion. If I'm right the mysterious figure could be travelling through time to "erase" Sora and Ventus, thus removing them from the picture and allowing the old Xehanort future plans to come to fruition.

 

In Short, the Mysterious figure is a fourth Xehanort that can control and travel though time so he can erase anyone who would get in the way of the old Xehanorts plan in the future.

 

It's a long shot, but still.
