What are your thoughts of this game? For those who don't know what Catherine is, it's basically a Romance/Horror/Puzzle Game to sum it all up. You play as Vincent, a 32 year-old guy (who honestly is kind of a slacker ) who is dating a girl named "Katherine" when out of nowhere he starts to have nightmares where if you don't survive and reach the top of each level, you die. On top of that a younger, cute, & slutty girl named "Catherine" appears and basically tries to steal you away from the first "Katherine." <--- There could probably be a better explanation to it than mine but ehh.

 

Also, if anyone is interested a lot of the voices may be very familiar. For example, Snow's VA from FF13 plays Vincent, and Serah's plays the blonde Catherine. The Voice of Sasuke from Naruto plays Vincent's friend Toby as well as the "Mysterious Voice" you hear in Vincent's nightmares (though the two characters aren't connected). There are others, but I'll leave that for you to find out.

 

From a first glance I seriously thought it was going to basically be a porno from the PS3 cover art with Catherine on it. But after looking at trailers, walkthroughs, etc. I was terribly wrong. It seemed interesting enough to go out and buy (which was a pain because the guy thought I wasn't 17... ._.). This game is actually quite challenging during all the nightmares , but it's still very fun and addictive! So far I'm not disappointed in the game.

 

But anyways yeah: What do you think of this game? o3o

I love Catherine.The game is challenging but doesn't feel too hard.The story is unique and feels unlike anything i've played.The story is great and the characters are intersering.I havn't beat the game yet but i know i want to play it again to see how story changes.I also found out that suck at Rapunzel.I also want to add that the morality system is great for the game and in my opinion uses it better than games like Mass Effect.

Catherine is a good game. I watched few live streams of it. I like how there is 8 endings so you won't say that the game is kinda boring. Also, i played the demo

I'm with Ocelot. I just started the 7th night and I've been getting my ass handed to me by the nightmares, but I'm always coming back for more. The story's great (hell, my family watches me play it and they love it) and I love the acting. The puzzles always keep you on your toes, which I can honestly say is a new thing for me. I usually habituat pretty quickly, just sticking to a few strategies, but "Catherine" has you pulling out any trick you can come up with. I can see myself playing this game for a long time.

just finished the game and i couldn't be more satisfied, the puzzles were a friggen pain in the ass but i got through it all on normal without cheating *harder than it sounds* and i got the true catherine ending .. really hoping for some kind of sequal or ova or something

tutti frutti. I agree with you about the puzzles being hard in their own right, but this game "Catherine" did give you that sense of accomplishment for completing the puzzles.

I've actually heard that from a number of other people that have either played the game or watched the trailers say the same thing that you have said about having the idea to cheat on your girlfriend.

 

Overall, this game had given me a different aspect on relationships altogether. Even though there are ups and downs in a relationship, I never thought that something like that would happen, even in a video game. I think that it's a great game, similar to tetris where the game kinda of mocks you, but you end up proving it otherwise. Also, there is no single way to complete a puzzle, which is another thing that I like about the game. Much like what animemylove stated, I would like to see a sequal or something to keep the series going.

after finally beating Catherine i was most satisfied with the true catherine ending i received while being pretty honest in my questions and opinions through-out the game. for all of you that played i have to ask which did you prefer and why?

 

my choice was catherine, both emotionally and physically, yea she was in my opinion the hotest one of the two, but she was also had an outgoing personality and also an entertaining way of suggesting what she wanted to do, both in the bedroom or for a date (did you see those pictures!) ... katherine just didn't appeal to me

I would say Catherine, but let's be honest shes kind of scary when she wants to be and is crazy as all hell sometimes, Talking about dying, killing you if you ever cheat on her, biting you. I mean damn if she is not hot and a succubus? O.M.G.
