A pretty self explanatory thread.

See, I've been trying to lose weight (goal weight being 100 pounds by Christmas) and I've been doing pretty well.

This thread is for anyone who wishes to share some weight loss secrets or is losing weight also and wants to share their progress.

Although, I don't enjoy sharing my weight, I've gone from 155 lbs. to 143 lbs. in a little less than two weeks.

 

What I did was simply change my eating habits. If you intend to lose weight, you NEED to eat breakfast. It's the only way to kick off your metabolism. I usually didn't eat anything, but even just a tiny bit of food is good enough. Eating a good breakfast makes me eat less at lunch and then I eat a regular meal at dinner. I don't eat after 7, since after a certain time your metabolism starts slowing down BIG TIME.

 

This plus working out has helped me lose weight

I've calculated my height in the USA way, and it is over 5'4'' -- 5'5'' (166cm)

But I've been gaining some wight recently. Until May, I was 52kg and now I'm over 54kg :C

 

If it bothers you that much, try losing it! Maybe become a bit more active if your diet hasn't changed?

Well it doesn't bother me that much... I just think I'm a bit fat :/

But yeah, I think I eat a lot of things I shouldn't eat so much.

I'll try to change it soon :C

And practice sports is not something I like that much :C But, meh, if it beings to bother me more in the future, I'll be forced to do it :/

Don't force yourself! I mean, do whatever makes you happy and comfortable with your body. Don't have to change anything that you don't want to!

 

Age doesn't matter, height matters more than age I believe.

 

 

 

 

That's more like the borderline anorexic way which is really unhealthy and can screw up your metabolism. If you mess up your metabolism, you'll be basically fat when you're older.

 

Also 1500 calories is not a healthy intake. Adult women need 2000 calories. More if you're an athlete.

 

 

 

I'm 5'1 so yes I know I'm targeting a healthy weight. I've been overweight most of my life, although I don't look it and this is the first time I'm really dedicated to loosing the weight.

I assumed you were above average. My mistake. And yes your right, Height is a bigger factor than age.

100 pounds just concerns me. Diversify your diet so you don't get vitamin deficiencies and what not, but Im sure you know that already (I hope)

A separate section isn't need, everyone is free to post their progress and even their workout routines and their meal plans if they wish!

My family and I have been eating a lot healthier for about a couple of months now. And I just recently just exercising. I work out about 30 minutes a day and I've been doing it for three weeks now I believe. It feels great. I'm a lot healthier and I'm losing weight. When I started I was 118 or 117 pounds and I'm now currently 114 pounds. My goal is to get to 100 pounds as well. I'm actually fine with my weight right now but I would prefer to be a bit smaller.

 

I normally just eat a really small breakfast because I'm never hungry in the morning and a sandwich for lunch, and for dinner my mom usually makes something that involves meat and vegetables.

 

About 50 kilos. A rough estimate is always half.

 

It's about 45 kg. That's really not a lot. I'm 5'11 and weigh about 135 pounds. It used to be a lot less but I'm actually happy the way I am now, cuz for one: now I look like a girl (I used to not have hips) and second: it's just healthier. *WARNING (Guys, this might creep you out)* If you're too skinny you'll start getting irregular periods and they might even go altogether, which could lead you to becoming infertile. Just thought you should know.

 

Besides, losing/gaining weight all the time (not saying that you are, Koko, but just a general comment) will make everything (think chest area and stuff) sag way earlier in your life.

My kind of diet is:

 

- Eat like a king during breakfast

- Eat moderately during lunch

- Eat very light food during dinner

 

I always exercise around 45 minutes per day and can't be more than that otherwise I will have muscle cramps.

 

I was like 110kg+ 2 years ago and now I'm reduced to 90kg which is a big step for me and thanks to my friends who drags me out to jungle trekking every month. Also I hate drinking Gas and Alcoholic drinks so I don't have any diabetes.

Honestly, I purge. I know that's a chicken way out and I really should do like everyone else does and exercise but, with how my health is, running down the block is like lifting a boulder. It's painful as hell :/ Purging isn't any better, I'm going to admit that. But, at least I'm not fat. I choose death on the skinny side not the fat side. The good thing about it, is I can eat a whole tub of icecream and not gain a single pound. :3 (it's still a stupid excuse to do what I do but I'm being honest.) Oh, and I wouldn't say I'm super underweight. I don't purge EVERY time I eat. I usually only purge when I eat things high in calories like cookies or something.

 

A tip for people who don't want to purge(which is probably majority of everyone here xD):

Do anything that makes you sweat. When you sweat, you lose weight. So, excercise. :P

While I do still recommend exercising, it's being active that counts. Being active could mean a variety of things and it doesn't always have to be a workout. The more active the are the more chance you'll have of losing weight with an appropriate diet. "Working out" (which is more strenuous movement like running and what not) can always help someone out even more but if you don't like to run you can always go out and walk. It's much easier to do and less stressful. Also it sounds silly, but I do buy those DDR, Kinect, Just Dance, etc. games because they do actually help me stay more active. It seriously helps me and works just as well when I don't want to go running or walk outside on certain days. xD

Skinny but toothless. Purging also makes you throw up the acids in your stomach which will damage your teeth.

There are people in the world that are unable to lose weight. It all depends on the way your body is built. You can be thin as hell, and still be unhealthy while someone a little on the bigger side can be the picture of health.

 

The point is; lose weight/gain weight in the effort to be HEALTHIER.

 

If you're doing it for just body image (not to say you can't do it to feel better about your body, but that shouldn't drive you to starve and purge), and you're choosing unhealthy ways to do it, then you are just destroying your body. :/

I agree, completely. I would rather a girl be be chubby than be skin and bones. No offense to anyone, but I find that when you can see a woman's rib cage it isn't very attractive at all.

But yeah, remember, there's nothing wrong with being skinny either. I was just pointing out how skinnier doesn't necessarily mean prettier. Both body types are beautiful in their own ways. Some girls or really just people (since it goes for guys and girls imo) are just naturally skinny and can't gain any weight, so yeah.

It just depends on your own preferences about which youre attracted to.

Yeah, I understand. I was just saying my personal preference to prove there are people who don't mind if others have body fat. To be honest, it would be majorly hypocritical of me to only skinny girls, since I am not skinny in any way*. And I agree, as long as your comfortable with your body, don't let others influence you, it's your body.

No it's find I understood you! I just wanted to kind of elaborate on what I was saying xD

I've noticed that, for me, it's easier to work out in the morning. I'm on my school's PT Team, so I'm awake at 6:00 every morning to exercise. I feel more motivated and more relaxed if I do things earlier (even though I am NOT a morning person, and hate waking up early. xD)

I started in late/mid September, and now it's November, and I'm happy to say I've lost about 16 pounds. I'm a 139, finally getting in the 130s after being stuck at the 140-143 range throughout October.

 

If any of you have been trying to lose weight like I have, go ahead and tell us your progress! I'm really happy about how much I've lost, as well as the inches I've cut on my waist.

My weight is 105 kilos, and I'm 1,93 metres tall, I always have to keep that weight for karate tournaments, so I always eat a nice breakfast, eat something good at lunch, always work out to keep the resistance and muscles, and eat something at dinner.

 

For example

Breakfast: Cereals and milk

Lunch: Rice, salad and meat (not too greasy)

Dinner: Potatoes, salad and fish

 

Sometimes I switch the meat and fish between lunch and dinner.

And I'm on my perfect weight.

Alright so for anyone who doesn't know I used to be 230 lbs 6'0 at the end of my sophomore year of highschool. By the beginning of my Senior Baseball season(around April) I had grown to 6'2 and I was down to 190 lbs(a little muscle, but still mostly fat). And now I'm 6'3 182.8lbs with my body fat % down to 10%(I'm very proud of this).So I know where people trying to lose weight are coming from.

 

Okay when it comes to eating I recommend FIVE small meals a day. the FIVE meals are breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. Having FIVE small meals a day helps keep your metabolism active, which you will need. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are your "bigger" meals, the snacks are just used to keep your metabolism going. I would recommend a fruit or vegetable you like(if there are any) or a "healthy" junk food option. This can be anything like a nutrigrain bar, granola bar, or a low calorie food. Also, I know it's hard, but try to drink nothing but water. Also, you should try to drink enough water for yourself. You can find this by dividing your weight by 4 and drinking that many ounces of water a day.

 

When it comes to exercise, you need to do something. Whether it's a sports workout(like I had), a commercial one like P90x(I did it and I SWEAR BY IT BUT YOU NEED TO FOLLOW IT STRICTLY), or a simple jogging routine. This, obviously, will burn calories and fat.

 

Now for some quick tips.

 

Your body naturally burns calories through daily things, such as breathing, blinking, etc. The point is that EVERYTHING you do will burn calories, I've burned a few just by typing this. So try adding small things to your day, like kicking your feet when you watch tv(alone) or walk on a treadmill when you play games. Also, try being in colder temperatures as often as you can. This is because your body will try to keep it's internal temperature the same. So when you're in cold temperature your body uses energy(burns calories) to keep it's temperature the same, plus by shivering you burn calories.

 

So, hopefully someone read this and starts following these small tips. And hopefully, in a few months, that person will comment back on this post saying that this did/didn't work for them so others can see.

 

Also, Koko being aiming to be 100 lbs doesn't sound too healthy, how tall are you?
