so after reading the translation of the demo review (since it's been weeks and still no sign of a vid online) i finally read what was up in the demo and saw and interesting bit of info where they said after every few minutes riku and sora would have their "drop" moment and we'd switch off to the other scenario. originally i thought one would just get injected into the other's storyline but i guess not. sounds like this could be a bit of a pain in the ass .. what do you guys think?

I feel the same. Being forced to switch roles immediatly doesn't appeal to me. Perhaps this only happens during specific events, or this would severely hamper my judgement of the game.

You also have the option to hit pause and select "empty drop gage" (or something of that matter) and it immediately allows you to switch to the other character's story. (Or at least, that's how I understood the information I read on here.)

I can see this being a good thing. Say, you're on Sora mode and you're at a really frustrating boss fight that has taken you hours to fight with no success, having the drop gage would come in handy. It'll give you a break by accomplishing a few things in Riku mode. However, when the gage drops again, you'll be put back immediately into that boss fight once again. Maybe with the break from the Riku storyline, you've figured out something that might help you win the boss fight, but that doesn't mean the fight will be any easier.

I wonder how often these drops will happen. Are they long gaps, do they run base off of time? Real time or game time? Or are they activated after certain checkpoints?

i know what you mean it seems a little confusing to me and i have a feeling im going to have to play this game multipule times in order to fully understand it but im not complaining about that lol still i just cant wait this game has gotten me really excited for some reason lol

I know I'm gonna try and keep Riku's gauge full for as long as I can when getting it. >xD

Maybe it was just for the demo. To really show the differences between Sora and Riku.

There was another demo impression I read that I didn't translate, but the person who played actually used the drop drain option so she could play most of Sora's part of the demo. I think it you wanted to stick to one you could, but I think it would be fun to switch it up. And like wayfinder said, it could mean a break from a hard boss xD I think it's be exciting though.

that sounds like something thats gonna piss everybody off untill you get used to it

I think it sounds really cool. I like the idea of fighting a boss, only to suddenly be viewing a cutscene of the other guy entering a new world.

It's a really unique way to show the parallel stories.

As of right now I really don't like it. I like completing one person's story then going to see the next one. Its like if you started Terra's story then all of a sudden decided to start Ven's. Makes little sense to me :/

i think it would be a nice change to be able to switch characters but they should have an option to let you play ones story till the end

It'll be good to switch characters if I get stuck on a certain character's part of the game. :) But I might get the characters' storylines mixed up ...

I actually am really liking the Drop Bar feature. I'l try to either ONLY use the empty, to play one story at a time, or NEVER use it.

I guess never using it would be more challenging!

I noticed something in the trailer that has to do with this actually. It looked as if the Drop Gauge was refilling when ever enemies are destroyed. So, I think you guys who want to spend a lot of time in one scenario should kill lots of Dream Eaters. Also, using the Free Flow seemed to decrease the bar...

Anyway, I think this feature will either be really cool, or terrible, depending on how well they pull it off. Hopefully the gauge won't deplete too fast, as that would be annoying. I think it could add something more to the game though. You know you have a limited amount of time, so you will want to finish what you are doing quick, before you drop into the other scenario. So it will keep you on edge, maybe break up any monotony that might be in the game.

I remember playing bbs for the first time I pick terra because he was cool and I had no cule. What I was doing then ven on accident

Good times good times.

It might be really interesting but on the other hand it probably will frustrate me at some point

~But I guess i won't know until I have experienced it myself~
