So, do you plan to get the Wii U when it comes out? I plan on getting one ( but not exactly on the first day it comes out. Getting it when some games like Smash bros and Zelda come out for it). The graphics look great on it and I just know that it will have a great lineup of games over time. I am hoping that it will come with a VC where you can buy GameCube games. That would really convince me (and other Nintendo fans) to buy the Wii U.

  • Rob told you guys the Wii U would be priced at $1-$1000.

  • if there will be a kingdom hearts game on it, hell yeah!

  • I've been and, you all are god damn party poopers. If you can't fit in $300/$350 into your budget, I don't know why most of you are going to get the other consoles coming out. If you could save money,

Also, some PS3/Xbox fanboys need to let go and realize you can enjoy other consoles. They're not like a girlfriend, you can shop around and play with many.

I love this analogy, I may steal if one day

fun fact, the Wii U's RAM is nearly half as fast the PS3 or 360's...

How the hell are they still behind? Nintendo get your shit together.

Not bad! I like that you can post screenshots of the game you're playing, and the whole forum aspect of it. Even though there're reports of hiccups here and there, the overall concept is nice.

To those of you who already have a Wii U, what are your thoughts of it so far?

I don't have one, but my friend does and she likes it a lot.

I have been playing my friend's Wii U recently and it's pretty good console. The pad works much better than I expected and the console is really powerful looking at its' size. I have been playing Batman Arkham City, ZombiU, NewSMB2, WiiUland. They are all really good game and work well. I think I could consider buying one for myself after I have bought my computer.

Here I am expecting them to have several at NYC, or at least one of these locations at NYC-Union Square and not only they only have one BB hosted in NY, but it's not even in the big city; it's at Long Island city, Queens.

Are you kidding me? I fail to see how they want people to try out demos when they put it in perhaps the most uncommon BB ever.

Well at least Nintendo World is doing something familiar, if what my friend said is true.

I just got mine today.

Basic edition getting discontinued in the U.S. Lol.

  • Author

Square Triangle, a member of the Neogaf forum, says that he has received an email from where he works informing him that all the Wii U basic editions are being recalled. Nintendo has previously stated that the 8GB Basic model hasn’t been as popular with consumers as the 32GB Premium model. The company is either preparing a new bundle, or alternatively they could be scrapping the Basic and selling the Premium console at $299.99. We should find out either this week, or next.

Also, A retail source close to GameStop has reported that the store will be allegedly recalling all their Wii U basic sets one week after E3, according to Kotaku. The news comes after a NeoGAF user received an email at work saying that all Wii U basic sets will be recalled, which leads us to ask whether Nintendo has finally dropped the ball on the 8gb hardware? Kotaku’s source has revealed that all new and unopened Wii U basic packages are to be recalled on June 18. GameStop has been contacted for an official comment but have yet to respond. The official statement is as follows:

“Nintendo Wii U Basic Recall – Two Week Preparation On Tuesday, 6/18, all stores will need to return all new/unopened Wii U Basic (020359). .. Stores that have 10 or more in stock will receive shipping cartons from the [distribution center]. .. All other stores will need to save shipping cartons for this recall.”

Well, when 32GB is available for a bit more (which is still less than 2 Basic models) a lot of people would get the one with more available space.  So I'm not particularly surprised.

Good, the basic set was basically useless when you could just pay 50 more bucks for a much better set

Huh, that's interesting. Guess I'll end up getting the Premium when I get my Wii U (hopefully) later this year.

I always thought the 8gb model was an odd decision. I don't really know how much memory Wii U games take up on a hard drive, but 8gb sounds like it would fill up pretty fast.

Its starting.

Pointless releasing it in the first place.
