I am prone to catching things on fire in the microwave for some reason. It could be because of my terrible memory or not paying attention. Today I was defrosting blueberries on a paper plate when suddenly they combusted into flames. I immediately turned off the microwave and put the fire out. Sadly I have caused many things to catch on fire or spark in the microwave such as plates,chinese take out boxs,silverware,poptarts, you name it. Well it least it gave me a good laugh and my microwave still works.

What??? LOL I've never heard of frozen blueberries or paper plates catching on fire in the microwave...unless you have them in there for an outrageously long time, I guess. But it sounds like you might just need a new microwave?

I didn't learn they were unsafe for the microwave until it was too late.

Plus, I am a little absent minded so it is easy for me to overlook these kinds of things.

My manager once tried to dry a wet rag by putting it in the microwave. I bet you can guess what happened.

well, at least things only catch on fire in yours, my old one exploded, i don't know how, everything was microwave safe, i ducked just in time, i was standing right in front of it when it exploded. (I never thought i'd almost be done in by kitchen supplies, i always thought it would be my brothers to do me in.), still, if your microwave makes wierd noises, get it check immideitly. lol (Don't mean to firghten anyone)

Please, i almost caught my toaster on fire 4 times (but it actually did catch on fire last month so we got a new one.....)

For some reason, when I reheat breaded chicken from Chinese food places, it always makes weird popping sounds are parts of the breading come off.

You know I'm actually always destroying my corn dogs in the micro wave! I always follow their microwaveing instructions to a T but somehow they almost always burst open!
