GET YOUR ASS UP! (Fitspo and Motivation)

Posted

So, I finally decided, I needed to get up off my ass and get my ass into a gym and start working my ass off. For far too long I've hated my body and complained and now I'm doing something about it.

I want to motivate others who've always wanted to the same.

So this thread is going to be full of fitspo and motivation and healthy recipes (70% DIET AND 20% EXERCISE) and I'll talk about my own journey towards fitness here.

I want to be in the best shape of my life and I want to be able to rock a bathing suit in the summer and I'm going to do it. No ifs ands or buts. The only failure is if you don't try.

And failure is not an option.

If you want to post any motivation or fitspo of your own, do it, BUT GET YOUR ASS UP AND WORK THAT BODY. I will mostly be posting female fitspo but if anyone wants male fitspo, feel free to ask.

Some hobbies that involve physical exercise require expensive equipment or training though, however just running around with your friends is often enough.

I'm 16, almost 17 and I still play hide and seek. STFU. My friends and I usually play manhunt though. It's a lot of fun. Basically you wait for it to get really dark and you have two teams, one of them are sneaking and the other team is hunting. The sneaking team has to make it to a "base" without getting caught. You are caught when you are tagged or hit by a ranged object. You can look up rule sets for fun ways to play.

You can also just walk around with friends and talk, theres usually an interesting discussion.

If you have trouble getting together with others your imagination can lead the way. Get in your back yard and pretend your a video game character or something IDK. I used to roll down hills thinking I was a bowling ball.

lol, nothing's wrong with hide and seek! My brother plays manhunt with his friends and he's about your age... Did it miss my age group or something?

And another good twist is riding an exercise bike and playing a video game. Burn calories and beat a level at the same time! (I've been doing that with Kid Icarus)

Corned beef on rye with a big salad with lots of baby carrots, broccoli, spinach, and cucumbers. Plus very very little dressing.

Didn’t touch the chips because they were gross lol.

I was full after like 3 bites omg.

But I ate like 3/4 of the salad and the sandwich and oh my god I eat so much guys.

Okay, let's talk about food.

Of course, make sure to eat lots of fruits and veggies, but make sure you have variety!

I like spinach, tomato, zucchini and carrots. As for fruits, I like kiwis, bananas, strawberries, watermelon, grapes, blueberries, to be honest I love most fruits =w=

I would say to make smoothies with fruits the night before so you can have something quick for breakfast the next day.

My go to for smoothies is a half cup of 2% reduced fat milk, half a banana and a table spoon of peanut butter. Perfect for breakfast.

As well, I suggest getting greek yogurt. Chobani is my favorite and it's a low lower on fat and sugars than regular yogurt. You can get the big tub of vanilla and mix in bananas or strawberries or nuts or granola or you can get the smaller portions of different flavors like peach, black cherry, raspberry, etc. My personal favorite is apple cinnamon. Another one of my breakfast options is some instant oatmeal or toast (wheat of course) with a tablespoon of peanut butter and either banana or strawberry slices. If I have enough time, an egg white omelet with zucchini, tomato and spinach is what I eat. Honestly, all of these are really yummy choices, imo.

For lunch or dinner, I like to either toss together a salad with spinach, cucumbers and tomato (using lemon juice as dressing) and eat it on the side of my main meal (make sure you don't eat huge portions!). Whenever I don't like whatever my family is eating, I either make myself a sandwich with whole wheat bread, turkey breast, avocado and a side of grilled zucchini or a small portion of pasta on a bed of spinach with some cucumbers. I'm not an expert cook so there's not much I can make, especially with the little healthy ingredients we have.

For snacks, I like carry around a bag of granola and almonds. Almonds are very filling, but be wary of them because they have a lot of fats! Pistachios are good too, make sure to get unsalted. You don't need that unnecessary sodium anyways. Apple slices with peanut butter is a good choice too or crackers.

It's good to eat several times a day because it gets your metabolism going!

Here are some links to pages with recipes! I haven't personally tried any of them.

Okay, so not many of you know but I started running while talking my dog out on her daily walk and let me tell, my muscles firetrucking hurt but I feel great after I do it. I've also started following the Canadian Food Guide more closely (you can look it up if you want to) and I've been shrinking my portions of food to what the CFG considers appropriate for teenagers. And I've stared eating a lot more yogurt and fruit too. I convinced my mom to start buying froze yogurt instead of ice cream. xD

Guys I found like the best recipe ever.

Basically, flourless pancakes.

Only three ingredients, a smashed banana, a whole egg, and a tablespoon of peanut butter.

Basically mix the banana and egg and then add the peanut butter.

And then just cook it like you would a regular pancake.

Make them kind of smallish since that's easier to flip, I made about three small pancakes with just one banana and egg.

It was really good, I put a tablespoon of syrup on mine and some fresh strawberries and it was really yummy *w*

a smashed banana

What is this? Just a banana smashed?

lol, I forgot that "smashed" meant high!

I meant as in was it a specific type of banana (so you've answered "No" to that).

late reply, but the best way to stop muscle pain (or at least help it) is to stretch before and after running. it'll also help prevent injuries and get you warmed up and pumped to run. :3

What would be a good way to get exercise indoors when going outside isn't an option?
